    MX5200 HST recall

And that's not even a cab GL! From what my dealer was telling me, it all depends upon the serial number. The dealer has a used 2018 MX on the lot they said they might be able to lend me while fixing my GL...just needed to check the serial number.

    Clock mounting

I bought a cheap Chinese clock / temp display from ebay, battery powered, sticky-tape mount. Worked fine until moisture got in it. Pic is below. My current cab tractor has an integrated clock in the dash, which I love having.

    MX5200 HST recall

HSTs are an overall excellent transmission, with unrivaled loader productivity. They do drain off a bit of horsepower but I've never used a more excellent transmission than Kubota HST Plus. HST Plus gives you the typical three mechanical gear ranges, plus Hydro Dual Speed which gives you an...

    MX5200 HST recall

Update - I spoke with the dealer this morning. It appears only certain serial numbers are affected, mostly new machines or nearly new. They claim the tractor will need to be split; cab removed. They said they are a bit blind sided by this and have not even been told by Kubota *what* needs to be...

    MX5200 HST recall

I got the letter last Saturday as well for my 2019 L4060 HSTC. I'm a small operator but I need the machine to work for me. I'm not going to be pleased handing in my tractor if they are going to have it for a month. My intention is probably to just keep using it for the season and turn it in...

    Made a mistake today

Some Kubota's do have a parking brake on warning light. They all should, in my opinion. It also kills me there is no 4x4 warning light. I really want one of these.

Kubota Grand L 60 series seat bottoms out

On my Grand L 60 tractor, I have the seat travel all the way back (I'm 6'5"). I find the seat (with the backrest at a reasonable angle) makes contact with the rear window latch. This is pretty poor engineering in my opinion...

L4060 leaking hydraulic fluid at fitting on loader

Thanks. I've never had one leak, but I like your suggestion of completely removing and reinstalling the fitting (with hydraulic pressure relieved of course).

L4060 leaking hydraulic fluid at fitting on loader

I have a gooseneck trailer and can tow it myself but I'm just annoyed I'll have to take the time given how new this thing is. The dealer is a ways from me.

L4060 leaking hydraulic fluid at fitting on loader

Hi folks, my 6 month old, 30 hour L4060 HSTC is leaking fluid out of the left side loader arm at the fitting on the metal line which feeds the right side lift cylinder. It only seems to leak if you leave the loader off the ground, so it has some pressure on it. I checked the fitting for...

    Adding outside temp display?

Finally installed it today. Looks great in person. I cut a hole in the headliner and tapped power and ground from the radio harness which is ignition switched. I ran the three wires for the temp probe out through the grommet of one of the front work lights. It is mounted to the work light...

    Landpride Flail mower

The mower came today in a crate and shrink-wrapped. No damage, perfect condition. Of course, it only was trucked about 6 hours away from where I live. No pics yet until I uncrate...but first impressions are that this is indeed a nice mower. The roller on the back is larger than I expected...

Why Is It Difficult To Shift Hydrostatic Transmissions

HST is actually a pretty clever system with few moving parts to wear out and the ability to move very heavy loads. A torque-converter automatic is likely heavier and has a lot more moving parts to wear out. A manual would be OK in a side by side (although more difficult to get up and over...

    Landpride Flail mower

Hey Oliver, As you know I traded my L2501 (which I miss) but I just ordered a Woodmaxx FM78 mower for my L4060. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I assume you haven't used yours yet given the season, but it sounds like you think it is quality? This is still a made-in-China mower, but they...

    Bx 1880

They are expensive if they break, that's for sure. When you push the diff lock pedal down, you are trying to move a pin inside the differential into a hole in the ring gear, which in an extremely simplistic explanation locks the left and right halfshaft axles together, preventing the action of...

Why Is It Difficult To Shift Hydrostatic Transmissions

I find the shifts are easiest with the tractor slightly moving. The manual says fully stopped, but this is just to cover their rears in the even someone tried shifting while moving more than slightly. The dealer recommended shifting while slightly moving. The Grand L series that some people...

    Bx 1880

I've engaged my differential lock for years with the rear wheel spinning and no damage has resulted. You do realize the wheel has to spin in order for the lock to engage, right? As long as you are going slow, you can push the foot lock button down without a problem. I agree prudence should be...

How much is too much weight?

Whenever you look at your loader's max rated capacity, figure on less. Quick Attach implements like forks push the weight even further away form the pins, and often forks outweigh a bucket. Whatever the weight difference of the forks vs bucket needs to be deducted. I tried to lift a 275 gallon...

Thanks, those do look like they'd do the job. I've seen some of Paul's videos. Is that an IAFF sticker? My B.I.L. is a captain here...
