Lowes fires employee who had been with them for 13 years for trying to prevent shoplifting

Just enact a law to shoot on-site with a mandated DNR (do not resuscitate) order; Any adult, or adult sized person, that willfully and intentionally shoplifts anything more than a loaf of bread and a jar of peanutbutter. Let them bleed out in the parking lot. A few unfortunate criminals will...

Damaged SSQA plate, good lesson learned

Hey, he's got his cowboy hat and thinks he's a farmer / rancher. One can tell by his jerky loader operation and slow pace that he just learned what a tractor is. I can watch a friend try to operate my tractor, or my grandkids, and accept all the jerkyness. A grown man in cowboy hat operating...

Biggest job you have done with your tractor

Dug a swimming pool, 35' Long x 15' Wide x 9' Deep at the deep end and 3' deep ar the shallow end. In 1977, with a Kubota B7100 with loader and Gannon scraper. No Backhoe. I do love my LX2610 but it's a bit more fancy pants compared to a 1970's B7100. That B7100 was a construction grade animal.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It's slim odds, but there's still some very capable younger folks out there with a head on their shoulders. Great post.

    Does Pump Diesel Contain Additives?

If it gets mighty cold where you and your tractor are, take note that in cold climates pump diesel IS definitely seasonal. My neighbors rarely used L3301 quit running this past winter. It was close to 20 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. Below zero daily. He was using summer-time bought...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I use permethrin a lot. It works. But the abundance of frogs and birds at my place, especially Swallows, do the best work on mosquitoes.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Oly smokes! Seeing that dump truck driver spread that gravel was seriously impressive. It wasn't his first rodeo.

    LX 2610 Service

In the OP's defense, I own a LX2610. The owners manual is almost good for the basics. But, other than that, it is campfire starting paper. More than 10% of it is dedicated to safety and liability stuff. It's pretty bad. I don't own an official "Service or Repair Manual" and I have...

    Tractor operating for new owner

Go straight up hills. As in, don't go up steep areas at an angle until you get a feel for the tractors tipping point. Don't drive sideways on slopes. Conventional tractors are kinda like a tricycle when you consider the center of gravity layout. The two rear wheels and the front axle center...

    L3400 ring and pinion gear

In 4wd, front axle off of the ground: Of you rotate one front tire one way, the tire on other side should spin the opposite way. Thats your differential doing it's job. Listen and feel for grinding or noise. If you hear or feel bad stuff, it's the differential. In 2wd, front axle off of...

    LX Cab Tractor

I have a LX2610 Cab model and I do love it. I can't see why you couldn't install large tires on one since you don't use or want to use the mid PTO. I don't think the fender clearance is any different on the standard cab LX and the SU. I think that it's just mid PTO issues if you want a mower...

    L3400 ring and pinion gear

You can check if it's the 4wd lever by jacking up only the front as @cthomas suggested. Engage 4wd and see if you can either turn the front driveshaft by hand or turn both front wheels the same direction. if you can't manually turn the driveshaft or turn both both front wheels in the SAME...

    L3400 ring and pinion gear

I agree 100 percent with @cthomas. Personally, I would start with your 4wd/2wd lever. If your front axle isn't making any noise, it probably isn't the problem. Ring and pinions don't typically fail. It's very rare. Unless you're racing or 4 wheeling very hard. And when they go, you'll know...

My log splitter tires….not Kubota but I need help!

I know you said that you didn't want to use liquid sealant, but I've been using TireJect on my tires and it just plain works. Everytime. I have it in my log splitter tires, Gorilla wagon tires, ATV and side by side tires. It's never failed to stop a leak. It also seals future punctures. My...

    Tractor operating for new owner

Like others said, watch videos and practice, practice. Also, your delivery driver should help you with the basics when he / she delivers your new tractor. They're usually pretty good about answering questions and actually helping you operate it the first time.

YES!!!...Just buy that damn thing....One more good reason to buy a back hoe......

I love this Thread!!! Thank you, OP. There's something magical about a backhoe. BH's are awesome. I don't have one for my LX2610, but wish I did! Or rather, I'd like a Kubota M62 as a dedicated unit. Mini Excavators are much more capable, but to me they don't have the swiss army knife...

    PTO Chipper recommendations

If you are set on a PTO chipper, then go for it. I can't recommend the size or brand because I have no experience with a PTO tractor mounted chipper. But: I'll mildly suggest you buy a chipper with its own power and trailer wheels. Leave it off of the tractor, no PTO to tie your tractor...

Adding weight to loader for bush hogging? Anyone ever done this?

The only issue with putting weight in the loader bucket is that the front axle is floating and un-sprung. It's like a teeter totter. If you put weight in the loader bucket you MUST go absolutely vertically up the slopes.

Adding weight to loader for bush hogging? Anyone ever done this?

Put your brush hog on the ground or in float when climbing slopes even while its' not cutting. it's going to feel light in the front climbing forward as that's normal. The massive weight and length of the brush hog should counter weight distribution issues if you drop it down. Or your slope...
