    Gas powered log splitter

I bought a gas log splitter about a year ago and have already split about 20 cords of wood with it. A couple of features that I am SUPER glad I got - but perhaps wouldn't have known about before I started using this one. The "wings" are EXTREMELY useful. When you split a large diameter log, I...

    Normal? or Not?

It sounds exactly like the parking brake was on? Maybe when you came back over to it you managed to push the brake pedal in enough to disengage the parking brake? Either that or the brakes were frozen in replace and didn't release properly on your first attempt?

    Dump trailer recommendations?

Well, this is not accurate any longer. PJ Trailers was purchased by ATW (Big Tex owners, as well) back in 2016. PJ Trailers did have a manufacturing plant in Mexico where they manufactured a subset of the trailers. Their primary manufacturing plant has always been in Texas. It sounds as if...

    Dump trailer recommendations?

I did a lot of research a couple of months ago and purchased a 14' tandem axle PJ Trailers dump trailer. 2' sides because it was less expensive and arguably more versatile than 4' sides. I subsequently constructed some 2' wood stake sides for <$200. Many dump trailers use a hydraulic ram as...

    Extinction

This is one of the reasons that I like Elon Musk. He's right insofar that one day another an extinction event will occur here on planet. Maybe 100, 1,000 or 10,000 years from now - but it WILL come. This is the simple reason that mankind MUST colonize other planets - even when those planet...

    L3901 4 in 1 loader bucket capabilities

My "other" tractor is a Case 580M Backhoe with a 4-in-1 bucket on the front. OMG. I absolutely LOVE the 4-in-1 and not sure what I'd do without it. We bought some property about a year ago and we have been systematically clearing trees and shrubs and stacking them. Well the stack kept...

    L2350 Hard starting

Perhaps an obvious question.... are you turning the key on and waiting several seconds to allow the glow plugs to heat up before you start cranking?

Being new doesn't make it perfect.

Thanks for sharing - but both of those problems are on the shoulders of the dealer who installed the 3rd function. I'm not arguing that the 2501 is perfect, but those situations shouldn't reflect Kubota's delivery quality - but rather the dealer's incompetence.

    Shell Rotella T6 5w-40

I too will say that there will not be any measurable fuel economy differences between same viscosity, modern synthetic motor oils. Only marketing fluff at best.

2380 with 1.5 hours spewing hydraulic fluid. Need to figure out how to add more

Awesome! You GO girl! Yes, from the pic, it looks like someone didn't tighten the lines. So much for dealer prep. Hopefully this fixes it for you!!

    New Kubota L2501 ordered

I am a new L2501 owner and also purchased the 1860 rotary mower although I really haven't used it much. When I was shopping, I asked the (large) dealer why he packaged in the 1860 instead of the 1260 (and maybe save me a bit of $). He said the 1860 was pretty much all they used across all of...

    Lug Nuts Too Tight

If you want the most from an impact, you CANNOT use an extension on it. The extension simply absorbs the hammer blows rendering the impact virtually useless. Try it without an extension and you will be amazed.

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

My plate arrived today from my apologetic dealer who admitted that a "new guy" had installed the brush guard and left the plate off. Of course Troverman is correct insofar that this is a 1/4" plate (not 1/8" as I had speculated) - all the more reason to wonder why someone would leave it off...

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

The plate looks to be about 1/8" steel so I would doubt that new attachment hardware would be needed.

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

Thanks to this thread, I was able to send my dealer some pics and explain what and why shield should still be there (and isn't). He was VERY apologetic, absolutely agrees, and says they had a new guy doing that and he made a mistake. They want to come out (50 miles) and install it and I told...

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

I just checked my L2501 - delivered about 4 weeks ago and no plate. I'll be talking to my dealer. As I understand, the tractors are shipped with the plate but without the brush guard attached. It seems that when some dealers install the brush guard, they leave the plate off. Not good.
