    Winter wear/ Insulated gear

Yes, BASE LAYER most important!! Check out Terramar and Coldpruf, that's what I wear skiing. Jay Peak VT last week was -17. 2 baselayers, long sleeve shirt and med weight sweatshirt, Gore Tex Shell and I was fine. Shell is important too for exposure. Gore tex or equivalent is also very...

    Regular oil analysis?

agree with all above. I did it all the time years ago, now I don't bother. I may do it again from time to time if I'm curious. I used Blackstone Labs, they were very good, but I think they try to sell you on getting the next one all the time.

    BX 23S with K-Connect.....Plow??

Perfect!!! Thank you!!!!! Edit: So watching some videos, looking at the plows connection, it looks to be the plow has it's own built in connect system with a hydro cylinder that connects to the BX frame? So I would be taking off my blower AND K-connect mount to mount this plow? This makes...

    BX 23S with K-Connect.....Plow??

2019 BX 23S, I have the K-connect system and front mount BX 2816 snowblower, goes great, no complaints. But...... This past storm here in New England we got 2" then it turned to rain and slush. The blower actually did a really good job of tossing the slush, but there were a lot of areas where I...

    Do you drive fast?

Yea my truck hum's right along at 80-85. I'll only do that on the longest loneliest stretches though. I normally cruise at 73-75 in a 65. I'm 50 years old now, my best score ever was 84 in a 40 when I was 18 years old. I used to get tons of tickets when I was younger. Now I haven't got one in...

    Installing a BX2618 Snowblower on a BX23S

Not sure how I missed this thread. I have nearly the identical setup, except my chute deflector is electric. I see what you're saying there about the hoses being in the way. You guys say your k-connect cylinder/ram is leaking? I'll have to look at mine, it's been flawless so far. (edit) Just...

    This Weather Event

Slushy 2 inches here in Western MA. Got a late start, pulled the tractor out and went through it too quick I guess because I took out a shear pin on the BX2816. Said screw it and went to work. Came home for lunch and got her going again. She throws slush really well compared to the old...

Anyone put a BX with loader in a Shelter Logic Tent

No experience here but my guess/assessment would be: better than nothing to keep the snow/rain/morning dew off, but in the end it's still a mouse-house. I use multiple products for my equipment stored outside/in sheds that are susceptible to mice. just my .02

A few spare pillows helps when sleeping next to it in the garage the first few nights. Be sure to tell the wife/GF that you'll be away for a while.

    Hydraulic chute rotation

You're gonna love it. I've got hydro rotation on mine, and electric for the deflector. On my second year here in New England, no complaints.

    ROPS too tall

Tough call OP. I was feeling bad welding a hook onto my bucket. I'd feel real bad cutting and welding my new ROPS. That said, I probably would go for it. Warranty be damned. I mean, what are the chances right?

    Which model do I need?!

You obviously mean the 2816 blower. (?) I don't have a TON of experience besides one New England Winter with some of the machines you're talking about... I have a BX23S and the BX 2816 Snowblower, runs fine, takes in a foot of snow at good speed. Throws it like a champ. I have found however...

    Smell Mystery

I've got a similar sniffer. Bought it when we tried to nail down a gas leak here in the building. It's really weird, it can "coagulate" and you can smell it in a room far far away from where its leaking if that room is closed off pretty well.
