Meh. It's good stuff I'm sure. But as I get older I realize it's just worth it to pay for stock/dealer parts.
learned this the good way the past 15 years on my old F-150, whole lot of junk parts coming out of those parts stores. They always give you 3 prices on parts: good, better...
Messed up my grapple hoses twice already in the first 2 hours of use.
First time my fault, second time I think the dealer tightened hose was loose.
I'm foreseeing: If I wreck something on my tractor, chances are it will be when using the grapple. lol
After using the sweeper all day with RGP contact lenses, there is more to my eye story than just this, but that's another thread.
So, I checked the fill stick on the back of the tractor to the right of the rear PTO, still full. 👍
Kubota Super UDT-2 is the stuff I use I guess. I'm thinking...
OTT first! then manual and google:
BX23S
kinked/bent a loose newly installed grapple line. Squirted me right in the face. Lost about 6 oz of fluid overall fixing and re-tightening.
1) Should I be worried?
2) How where and what to refill with?
3) It will bleed itself right? It seems to have...
Got my BX 23 S in the fall, found out about this over winter, 30 hours on the tractor, checked the front diff, it wasn't low, it was BONE DRY. I documented, took pics, called dealer, he said just fill it, it will be fine. <rolleyes>
Me: 49 year old shade tree hack, accountant in real life that thinks he's an offroading farmer/mechanic/handyman.
So IMHO: Steel rims on a tractor, hell no, not required.
I use a torque wrench when putting on head gaskets or torquing other gaskets when the instructions tell me to, that's...
TLDR but:
If they tell me its going to be 6 weeks, I'm totally fine with it. However long it takes dude.
If I pay, they don't tell me, and it takes 6 weeks, I'd be totally pissed and barking at them like hell.
Just MHO
Newbie 23S operator here, 32 hours. Mine felt tippy going down the little hills from pavement to grass, I've learned to carry loads low very fast. I didn't have weight in the tires for the first week or two after I picked it up, then brought it back to have the dealer complete my package and...
BX 23S owner
I went with the Landpride SGC 0554 for a couple (probably stupid) reasons.
1) Weight: I looked at a few others and they were 300-500 lbs or some such crazy weight. I thought that's nice its heavy duty but I'm losing half my carrying capacity with just the unit itself.
2) My dealer...
Newbie operator, new BX 23S, 35 hours.
I just had the dealer install 3rd function valve, new/different control stick, new button on stick.
For my first 34 hours I seem to remember the original stick would return to center quite well, neutral position, unless I jammed it forward for floating.
Now...
I may do this at some point.
For the time being I've just done the front strap over the frame between the grill and the guard, and the rear threaded through the draw bar. Just two straps, I'm a rebel I guess.
OP: Shop around, get a few quotes. I bought by BX23S in the fall. The big far away dealer quoted me $1000 over list on the tractor, the closer little dealer quoted me $1,000 under list for the tractor.

There's a saying out there......."Better to have it and not need it........."
I actually plug in a strobe light in to mine when I'm going down the street snowblowing at night. :geek:
