RPM's, HP and Torque, Oh MY!!!

Time in the tractor seat is time not spent in other, less attractive places. Run the L, get good at it, know its limitations. Eventually you'll not want a bigger machine because the smaller one gets into tighter places etc. As the old shooting saying goes... "Beware the man who owns only one...

RPM's, HP and Torque, Oh MY!!!

Coming back to the original question... or one of them, at least! :-) You are right to say that operating your tractor at 540 RPM PTO speed is causing the engine to run at something less than maximum power. What you may be missing in your thinking is the topic of governor "overhead" or...

How many hours on your tractor.

#1 B7510 has about 670 hours - no major issues #2 B7510 has about 370 hours - no major issues B2410 just purchased has about 2560 hours - had major repairs done to mid PTO driveline for its associated front-mount snowblower last year, likely about the 2500 hour mark. While I'm not worried...

Going to Have to Change My Signature Line...

I let him drive one of my B7510's the last time he was here visiting. That was a "high risk activity" as I wasn't sure I was going to get him off the seat! He likes the hydrostatic drive, and the power steering. Since the B2410 has both of these, plus an upgraded seat I suspect he'll be quite...

Going to Have to Change My Signature Line...

Yup, my old signature line won't work anymore. My fleet has just expanded so I'll have to update my signature to include the "new to us" B2410, front mount snow blower and mid-mount mower that will be arriving next week. These are interesting times as I've had my MF135 and rear-mount Meteor...

Advice on Plowing Snow with Chains or 4x4

I have a matching pair of B7510's, one on Ag tires, one on turf tires. In deep snow the ag tires win, hands down. in anything that's even a bit slippery the turf tires win. Oh, by the way, if you really want to make your life easier, especially given the big dumps of snow you can get in...

    Ear Candy...

I had no idea there was so much good music available on that 'tube site. Wow. I think I've just found a way to blow several winter evenings. Thanks, all, for sharing your fav's and for introducing me to some incredible musicians.

    Adjustable Rear Wheel Width?

I can't speak to the L-series, but all three of my B-series tractors have multiple positions where the hub can be placed on the axle. Then one can also vary the width by mounting the wheels with the wheel dish inward or outward. The net effect is a fairly broad range of track widths from the...

Help Request: B2410 Diff Lock Operation

Hmmm... Excellent explanation - thank you! I suspect I haven't noticed this on my other tractors because their tires are set in pretty much as tight to the frame as is practical, whereas the B2410 has them spaced as far out as they will go. This would certainly exacerbate the condition, given...

Help Request: B2410 Diff Lock Operation

Folks - I'm very nearly ready to pull the trigger on the purchase of a B2410 hydrostatic drive tractor. This tractor has fairly high hours (2500) but appears to be well-maintained and is in much better condition than most I have seen with that many hours on them. I normally would not consider...

Best older model for front mount snowblower/finish mower

I think I can help answer some of your questions... HISTORY - long history of using bigger 2wd farm tractors with 3pt rear mount blowers. MORE CURRENT HISTORY - 1) purchased a used B7510 with B2782 front mount blower with heated Curtis cab a few years ago. LOVE IT! Works well in all snow...

    B7510HST Fuel Gauge

Our float stuck once, produced similar symptoms as you have described. I moved the machine over some uneven ground (produced some decent side-to-side angular displacement) when I was moving some firewood and voila, the fuel gauge worked again!

WTB - Mid Mount Mower Mount Bracket for B7510

I know it's winter, but grass season isn't that far away. (Please, please let it not be that far away! LoL) We have a pair of B7510's - one has the LA302 loader and is set up to also use a mid-mount mower. I really want to run the MMM on the other B7510 that has no brackets for the mower. I...

WTB - TURF Tires on Wheels, Front Implement Mount for B7510

OK, I know it's a long shot, but here goes... I'm looking for a full set of TURF tires on standard Kubota 6-bolt pattern wheels to fit our B7510. Rears are 33 x 12.5-15 Fronts are 23 x 8.5-12 Likewise I'm looking for a front implement mount for the B7510. This could be a snowblower mount...

    B7510 Front End Whine

And now for the rest of the story... Dealer called this afternoon. Whining noise has been fixed. I say "WHAAAAT?!?!" Turns out the shield over the propeller shaft was slightly bent and had a ding in exactly the right spot to create a very nasty noise. The mechanic working on the issue agreed...

    B7510 Front End Whine

The sound appears to be centered, however I'm at a bit of a loss to be able to tell how close to the axle it might be... It could be coming from further aft in the propeller shaft, but I'm not sure. As for the seal, in this case it would be the perimeter seal between the horizontal axel and...

    Roading A Tractor

I've done 30 miles more than once on my Massey 135's. Eight miles to the airport is a regular thing for me. Now with the Kubota's it's a different story. 10mph top speed and a ride like a buckboard makes me want to trailer it for anything over a mile. R1's on the "new to me" B7510 make ya...

    How often i check fluids - - don't lie!

As a pilot I learned the discipline of the "walk around" or "pre-flight" inspection. I do that with every piece of equipment I own, every time I use it. So far doing this little one minute check has saved my bacon several times, including detecting a broken axle casting which would have been...

Looking for Looking: Implement for Snow Clearing with B7100

To add to Wolfman's comments, make sure it's a blade which you can angle to push the snow to the side. Even better if it's a double-angle blade so you can offset it to one side of the tractor so your rear wheel is outside the windrow of snow.

    B7510 Front End Whine

Truth be told, I've had some excellent troubleshooting assistance provided via this site and have, to date, only gone to the dealer for parts. I appreciate having some idea what might be wrong before the dealer's quote makes my jaw hit the floor! :-)
