Any of them will work. I have the HF one and it has been beat to death for over a year and still works great. As stated above in the video the SpeeCo will save you money depending on how many implements you have. The bushings are expensive.

Interesting. I don't do 'farming' but I plow about 50 acres (total 6-7 fields) twice a year for deer fields and find no difference between the HST on my L4400 and my 1968 Massey....other then the brakes work on my L4400 and the disk IS my brake on the Massey.:oops:

Just out of curiosity what are they not suited for? We are talking about one of three methods to move the tractor forward or backward: gear, HST, SS. If you need to move your tractor forward and backward all three are well suited for that application. I'm confused about the 'sides' claiming...

I agree with extra width making things a bit more stable!

If you are not dealing with 'turf' mowing (yard with a finish mower, etc) the R1 or R4 may be the best option. I do think you are placing too much emphasis on width as opposed to traction. You can put a 25 inch wide tire on your tractor but if it has no traction, or collects mud until it became...

I find that as well. Sometimes have to move forward or back a bit.

Check the dealer, you may get lucky. I had a problem with a rim on my L4400 and they 6 used ones 'in the back' with the tires (in great shape). Purchased two in case of a flat etc. so I always have a spare around. Basically got 2 used, with tires, for the price of one rim.

I understand that it is a new tractor. If it was me I would have the dealer replace the zerks with any paint on them. I wouldn't trust a painted zerk to allow flow of grease. This is pure laziness at the factory and the dealership. If you have a zerk with paint in the hole it needs to be...
