Average hours per year on your tractor

Been playing with compact tractors since 1988. I've consistently logged 100 hours/year +/- 10% Holding true with the new 'Bota. Just turned over 190 hours blowing snow a couple of days ago, it'll be 2 years in April.

    Let it snow!

Looks like Mother Nature has a little mid-March gift in store for us. Forecast is for a foot-plus Tuesday into Wednesday. With temps forecast in the 30-33 range, it also looks like it's going to be a typical March storm: heavy, wet crap that's a PITA to blow. Good news is, it's been single...

Any regrets going from bx to b series

Depends on how big a fella you are. I weigh 210 and with the preload on the seat springs set at max it still bottoms pretty hard on any significant bumps.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Cleaned a Winter's worth of crud out of the cab. Pulled the rubber floor pan out and scrubbed it, saw water on the foam under the pan so pulled them out...oh oh, water and mud under the foam too. Not too surprising considering the various penetrations through the floor of the cab for pedals...

    Can anyone tell me why

They did that with turkeys here in Maine. I NEVER saw a wild turkey until about 10 years ago, now they're freakin' everywhere, driving the deer out and attacking pedestrians. We do have a Spring and Fall season on them, but it doesn't seem to be making much of a dent in the populations.

    Green machine The Thumb

Plate is 1" to match the base of the grapple. That's probably overkill. Bolts are 5/8" Grade 5

    Kubato L2550 need help

Battery ground? Power lead from battery to dash (sometimes that is connected at the battery cable lug on the starter)? Wiring harness plugs seated?

diesel fuel for rose hedge control.

I know (a friend tole me so...) that Roundup cut with about 5% diesel will kill Nightshade deader than a hammer, and in dang short order too! I had a wicked infestation of it along my fencelines. "Had" being the operative word...

    Green machine The Thumb

On my B2650 and LA534 bucket, I made a bolt-on mount by welding nuts to the back of a piece of bar stock and cutting holes in the back edge of the bucket so it sat flush and then welded the mount to the bucket. Did the same thing to my forks so I can bolt the grapple to either implement in a...

    Flasher Guard

I've lost a couple of lenses on the upper flashers on my Kubota B2650HDSC. Mowing under trees and such they get rubbed on a lot. Blowing snow after the recent storm, a lot of the trees next to the drive had branches weighed down with snow and I finally broke one plumb off. Ordered a new one...

    Milling Vise

Different approach to the same problem. Cheapo Horror Fright cross feed table with a Craftsman tilt jaw vise mounted to it. I took the cross feed table completely apart, cleaned it thoroughly, stoned the ways and gibs, lubed and adjusted everything and it actually works quite well, especially...

    Let it snow!

Spent the day in the tractor! Took me less than 2 hours to clear out my place and the one driveway I contract for. As I was finishing up the contract driveway, the local builder that I do odd jobs and maintenance for swung in with his plow truck. In the winter he caretakes for a bunch of...

    Let it snow!

I did, gave them up a year ago last Summer. Gettin' too old to be lugging water to them all winter, and too cheap to run a frost-proof line 100 yards down to the barn. When I had the Shetlands and we'd get a snow like this, I'd be looking around for the sheep and pretty soon a pile of snow...

    Let it snow!

Somewhere between 2 and 3 feet here since last Friday, supposed to taper off overnight and be nice tomorrow. Gonna be interesting clearing that up in the morning. Gotta make room for another foot forecast for Wednesday. Blower's working great. Hard to get video when you're driving tho.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Re: What did you do on the Kubota today? Plugged it in. :p I have the block heater on a remote-controlled outlet, I'll turn it on in the morning and deal with the 12" +/- of snow we're in the process of getting. First blow-able snow all winter. I'm just a little concerned that a winter that...

    Troubleshooting a PTO/Snowblower issue

Just another thought here: Have you kept up with the lubrication? The zerks on the crosses are just enough of a PITA to get at that sometimes the urge to skip them gets overwhelming. We're supposed to get 8-12 tomorrow. If we do, it'll be the first blow-able snow of the winter. I need to...

    And me with 2 beagles

If I squatted like that for more than 30 seconds, they'd have to call in a crane to get me back on my feet.

    Snowblower brands worth buying?

No experience with Nortrac, but I'd want to see one up close before I plunked my money down. I have a Pronovost Puma 64. Bullet-proof unit, zero complaints. You won't get one new for $1600 tho. I got mine used off Craigslist, they're out there if you're willing to invest the time.

    What is/was your Profession?

1999harleyRN said: (Emphasis mine) Man, can I ever relate to that. I was a volunteer firefighter for 15 years and that's one of the two major factors that drove me out of it and keep me from returning.
