    Homestead Implements

First rule of OCD club is that there needs to be a second rule so that there are an even number of rules.

    Vehicle $$$

A local has been giving away food for the needy and I've driven past it a couple of times. 4 out of 5 cars in line are nicer than mine.

    Watering fields

The old style soaker hoses that spray a fine mist into the air waste a lot of water. The ones that just leak water from the hose lose very little to evaporation.

    First electric tractor 30-70 hp

I don't think that this is the best approach for the programming at least not for ag use. The current auto steer seems more practical. They program in the edges of the field the implements that they're pulling even the variety of seeds that they planted. With the autonomous tractor pulling the...

small garden -- rip then till? (what's a ripper, subsoiler, middle-buster, etc?)

I don't test my soil either. If the tomatoes get blossom end rot you need more calcium. I use egg shells but pulverized lime works. You can tell if it needs nitrogen by the color of the plant leaves. If you fertilize with plant matter or a balanced fertilizer the phosphorus and potassium should...

    PTO Wood Chipper

If you're using it a lot and want to use your tractor at the same time ie for the grapple the stand alone has merit. If you don't need the tractor at the same time and don't want another engine to maintain the PTO driven unit becomes more practical.

    Something just crossed my mind

Of the 3 tractors I ran the most none of them had a working diff lock so I usually just use the brakes because I forget I have it.

    Compression ratio on old tractors

I was looking at the specs on old 2 banger deeres and was wondering how they ran with such low compression. Some of them are less than 4 to 1.

    First electric tractor 30-70 hp

You don't need to go all electric to go autonomous. If you can run an alternator you can run the auto steer. There's a video of a guy running his grain cart autonomously from his combine on YouTube .

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

You could put a sewer trap on the pipe to keep the water out of the engine

    Something just crossed my mind

Yes. You shouldn't engage it with the wheels slipping unless it runs off clutch and not pins. You can use the brakes to stop the spinning wheel.

    Crimping ferrule

Currently no brakes. 4 flat connector runs down one side crossing over in the back. Largely held together by wire nuts. Short term I want to split it at the hitch run it down both sides and only have splices at the ground and the lights. I will look into brakes when I bring it in to get the...

    Crimping ferrule

So do you think that the hardware store ferrules will be ok if if I chuck the stamped steel crimper and get a decent one?

    M Series Remote Valves

If it's single acting that's probably just the nature of the beast. It lifts under pressure but only has gravity to lower it.

    Crimping ferrule

What does everyone use for ferrules? My 16 foot tandem needs rewiring. The ones commonly available have seams in them that lead to bad crimps if not oriented properly.

    New toy for next year

My brother had a vermeer 706C. Our 4030 wasn't big enough to lift the bales with the loader so we always used forks on the 3 point. My nephew has a 605 super F now and he can use a spear on those.
