Spreading fertilizer, lime, and seed together...

Mud all, as stated above a chain drag will work ok but I have to say things seem to do better with a cultipacker. There are a lot of used cultipackers around for about $80-100 per foot of width. If you any more help let me know, I take my food plots quite seriously and work hard to get the best...

    L4701 or MX5200 - Stuck on Decision

Lewgar, I saw your comment above about Cat 1 and cat 2 attachments. This is not an issue, the MX 5200 has about 44HP at the PTO. I have lots of Cat 1 attachments that I use on my MX 5800, first thing is spend about $8 for a set of cat 1 to cat 2 sleeves as cat 1 pins are smaller than the cat 2...

Spreading fertilizer, lime, and seed together...

Mudball, I do a lot of food plot planting, I would not mix my seed into the other items. Between lime and fertilizer it looks like you have over 1,000lbs, are they just using a rotary 3pt spreader? If so I would suggest to first spread the lime, then spread the fertilizer, those are both very...

    Tooth bar for bucket

Papaj, they do make light weight stump buckets for the BX, not sure how they will perform. I run a heavy duty version on a MX5800 with mixed results. When I fit that stump bucket on my track loader kubota SVL 75-2, it becomes a beast. The light weight stump buckets cost more than a full size...

    overwhelmed by choices, please help

Welcome to the forum. You are asking about running a front snow blower on a B series, they run off a mid mount PTO which the B has. On an L you can not run a front mount snowblower you would typically run a rear PTO driven snowblower. The cost of a front mount snow blower is about double what a...

Another full synthetic 15W-40 diesel motor oil...

I used the Mobile Delvac Extreme 10W-30 in all my machine servicing earlier this year. The oil ratings are as good as any other top product. Currently on offer, if you spend $99 you get free shipping. That's $17.50 / gal, great value. I'll stick to the 10W-30 as it covers the cold times here in...

    L4701 or MX5200 - Stuck on Decision

I'll 2nd the above, buy the MX, I have a MX5800 and a couple of L tractors, I would not survive without my MX.

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

I have purchased quite a few attachments from EA, (large disc harrow, 84" cultipacker, land shark scarifier, extreme 84" rake, tiller, 3pt spreaders) all good stuff and they include delivery, I highly recommend them. I have purchased used Woods attachments and saved a ton of money (HB84 box...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

TomRC, I'm not being critical of the attachments you feel you need, I agree they are all very useful and over time you will add even more. My comment was very simple, if you are on a budget buy more tractor and less attachments on day 1 or buy used attachments or borrow an attachment from a...

    What size backhoe?

Dippybird, Toys are good, it's better to have too many than too few, I have a very large piece of land, mainly woodland, the excavator is so handy to pull roots, clear roads and dig trenches for drain culverts, maybe I could have lived without it but the toys ..oops tools make life so much...

    Land clearing project and question.

Dylan, After recommending a subsoiler today I went and purchased one myself, I just cleared some small woodland food plots for bow hunting in the fall and want to pull any surface roots, I'll use my L3200 and the TSC subsoiler to get into these tight areas. I went to my local tsc and saw that...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

TomRC - You say budget is a factor right out of the gate, you have a very large list of attachments (too many maybe and there is too much money in buying all of these new) in your wish list. I really recommend buying up in your tractor decision to the L2501 and buy only those attachments you...

    What size backhoe?

I do a lot of serious work with my equipment and I often think that bigger is better when it comes to ground work, I did all the research on backhoes and was about to buy one to fit a MX5800, at the last moment I found it hard to justify, but 2 years later I just purchased a kubota excavator...

    What size backhoe?

Your tractor weight is around 2,600 - 2,750 lbs and produces around 25hp at pto, my view is that the larger unit at 1,400 lbs without bucket of approximately 200 lbs is just too large and heavy to drive around with your size of tractor. I think you will be happier with the smaller unit you are...

    What size backhoe?

it looks like the kubota BL4690 was the normal backhoe used, the weight of those units are around 900 lbs. I have quite a few attachments by Woods all quaLily stuff. seems like the BH7500 is the correct unit for you.

Better for gravel driveway maintenance, a Box Blade or Landscape Rake?

Don I’d use a box blade but there are many that like a grading scraper. The shanks on the box blade do a nice job of breaking things up so you can actually move material around. Out of the models you are looking at it is my experience that the 1560 will perform better as it is heavier, the trade...

    BH77 control arm options

Welcome, thanks for posting, I was not aware of the options on the backhoe. How do you like your L3901, I have one too and think it’s a very capable all round tractor

    Land clearing project and question.

Another thought is a 3pt sub soiler from TSC a $200 investment, run it at 4-6” deep, it will break up and pull a lot of the surface roots, hopefully enough where your disc will get at the ground.

    Land clearing project and question.

No USA attachments built the dozer root rake, they did a great job and made it to fit my machine, it’s an early 70’s Case 450.. I have a large acreage of woodland and each year I clear a few more food plots and make another trail or two, this thing is a work horse and stops me trying to do...
