New Bus Hog Rotary Cutter (Brown Manufacturing)

Most of those Brown open deck models are rated for 8” diameter trees, I own something similar that fits to the front of my Kubota track loader and is powered by the high flow hydraulics, it will cut 8”, trees, a human foot would be nothing to these machines! the Brown brush hog that the OP...

Tractor Chipper vs Stand Alone Unit?

MX6000 You will not be disappointed with your new chipper, I have the MX-9900 which is very similar, Woodmaxx makes good equipment and it is US made. Mine is just a beast and eats whole trees or large branches all day long, I have about 8 miles of trails that I maintain, the auto feed is an...

New Tractor just how do you fold down ROPS

Welcome to the forum. Yes once you have pulled the 2 retaining pins that go through the bolts you remove the 2 bolts, you will then be able to fold down the ROPS and reinsert the bolts and pins with the ROPS down. Good luck with it.

Never operate mower in transport position

I think this is a safety issue of potential debris flying in all directions. When the brush hog is in its normal cutting position any debris is normally managed by the safety chains or shields, if you run it at transport height or a raised angle, debris can shoot in all directions including back...

Tractor Chipper vs Stand Alone Unit?

I do a lot of chipping as I have a large acreage of woodland, I have a stand-alone Troy Built 13hp chipper but to be honest it is not man enough or fast enough, I purchased a 9” capable Woodmaxx MX-9900 with hydraulic feed. I cut a lot of 3-5” diameter tress and this chipper just takes the whole...

    Question on Tools......

Tractor ownership will require some larger tools but typically not for your tractor, attachments often need larger tools. I have a 3/4 drive socket set from harbor freight $70 and use many of the large sockets on things like lower pins on attachments, bush hog blade bolts, very useful on many...

    MX5400 & Implements

I have a mx5800 and pull an everything attachments heavy duty 82” disc, you need weight in the disc unit to get into the ground, angle has an impact on pulling. I use a Woods BBX72 brush hog with a slip clutch. My MX handles both units very well.

Do Kubota dealers ever discount off list price these days.

There are a lot of factors, cash purchase vs financing, kubota incentives, time of year etc. you should decide on exact specification and any extras and then shop 3 dealers. I would anticipate 10 to 13% discount from list as realistic.

    Bush Hog 286 vibration

You may want to check a number of items: 1. Is there any oil in the gearbox. They normally have a fill port and a full level drain port where oil will run out when at the full level. 2. Stand overnight with paper below to see if oil leaks. 3. Can you easily turn the blades manually, is the...
