    Tire bulging out the side

If that tire was on a vehicle and you took in in for warranty it would be considered a road hazard failure which would not be covered unless you had purchased a road hazard warranty when you bought the tire. On a tractor it may be a different story but more or less it was most likely caused by...

    L2501: Well Worth the Wait............

Thanks! I plan on putting plenty of hours on this machine and enjoying every minute of it even in the freezing cold........... As far as the steering goes the L series has mechanical power steering not Hydrostatic steering so the steering wheel should stay as positioned on the shaft.

    L2501: Well Worth the Wait............

It was a long 2 months wait but I finally picked up my new L2501 a week ago Friday. Originally I had been interested in a L3302 but opted for the L2501 with no DPF and related computer controls to simplify possibe future repairs. When I first inquired about an L2501 the only units they had...

L245DT hydraulic/ gear oil in bellhousing. Clutch slipping.

I'm not a tractor expert but I've been in the transmission business for 40 years. It looks to me like that hole takes a cup plug.

Zg227 rich condition on restart when warmed up

When you had the carb apart did you blow out all the ports with compressed air? The smallest amount of jelled up ethanol can block these ports and cause a rich condition.

    New tractor purchase

Check with the dealer in West Springfield MA. I was looking at their inventory several weeks ago. They had access to several tractors, off location, if need be. 413-536-8901 ext. 1523. Ask for Brian

    Hydraulic and transmission oil.

Being in the transmission business since 79', adding 10W-40 oil did not cause your 2nd gear issue. It was most likely loosing the ATF, via the leak, while driving that did the damage. More often then not, such damage doesn't turn up until a later date.

    Bad Ground side effects

Any electrical troubleshooting should start at the battery. Check the battery voltage. Check your connections: remove and clean the cable ends. Follow the neg. cable to the frame or engine block. Remove and clean the frame or eng. block area and the cable end. Look closely at the cable where it...

    Diesel oil sale

Thanks Dan! With that in mind, it would seem the Rotella T6 would meet warranty requirements. I would prefer to use the T6 Rotella full synthetic in my new, yet to be delivered, L2501 when it's time to change the oil but wouldn't want any possible warranty issues if I had some kind of problem...

    Diesel oil sale

Conflicting information? So whats the answer? Rotella T6 oil meets CJ-4 specs. Kubota service manual indicates CJ-4 oil can not be used on an L2501. Messicks claims CJ-4 oil can be used on a L2501.

    Diesel oil sale

Does the T6 Rotella 15W-40 meet Kubota warranty requirements on a L2501? The info I've come across indicates it may not. From the sevvice manual for a L2501: EGR: Exhaust Gas Re-circulation • The CJ-4 engine oil is intended for DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) type engines, and cannot be used...

    Sticker SHOCK

I've been in the auto repair business for roughly 40 years. I once did a filter comparison test on oil filters by cutting open the canisters and removing the filter elements for inspection. Out of a dozen different filter brands the Mobil 1 was the cheapest piece if junk out of them all. It had...

    Engine Locked up on L3200

If your engine locked up from lack of oil it's going to have problems. A locked idler, I'm assuming idler pully, if your engine has one, would not lock the motor up. It would just burn up the drive belt.

    New tractor purchase

Thanks for the info. I'm not too worried about it. I've owned an auto repair business since 85'. If my new tractor needs any adjustments once I get it home I'll probably be doing them myself unless it's a costly repair in which it will go back to the shop under warranty. I'm pretty particular...

    New tractor purchase

Thanks for the welcome! I've been lurking for a while gathering info while making a decision on which tractor I wanted. Kubota won out over JD for a few different reasons. One being the 3 speed range HST over JD's 2 speed Range HST. Another was the weight factor. I have been eyeballing...

    New tractor purchase

I'm also new to the Orange Tractor Craze. Not my first tractor by a long shot but my first Kubota. I was leaning towards a L3302 but decided to sacrifice a few horse power and go with the L2501 to avoid the DPF filter and possible extra expenses down the road when it needs repairs. I recently...
