Anyone else get excited about snow?

Funny. I just talked about this with my wife. We don’t get a ton of snow where I am. It is plenty cold, but only get heavy snow a few times a year. I told her that I completely understand people in high snowfall areas that invest in cabs and heaters. For my situation I bundle up and invest in a...

Anyone else get excited about snow?

Thanks. With the FEL I found it helps to keep up with it so not too much snow builds up. If I let it get too deep the tractor/FEL combo can only move a certain amount of snow each pass.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

My 13 yr old wanted to ride the 4 wheeler, but the snow was too deep for it. So he is using the BX to move the snow and make an oval track for it. Hours of entertainment.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

Cleared the drive again with my BX2200 FEL. Now that it is frozen it is a lot easier since it is a gravel drive/parking area. Snow has passed and the sun is out.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

Nice setup you have there. If I was going to be having to plow a lot over the winter I would look in to a cab for my BX. The wind and blowing snow when I was out earlier today was a little uncomfortable. The past few winters the need to plow has been pretty limited. It has been cold enough...

Anyone else get excited about snow?

We ended up with about 7" here. Plowed a couple of times to keep the driveway clear. The bad part was all the rain and 40* temps before it turned in to snow. Made for a lot of much and slush.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

I am about 10 miles east of Auburn in the Sr Joe area. We got some, but not a lot. ClearEd the driveway twice, but could have done it once this evening. A little deep for the 2wd Honda 250 when I was pulling the kids in a tube, but still would move decent.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

I just finished plowing my drive and the road in front of my property. I live on a dead end country road and was just wondering if the county would pay me top plow our 2.5 mile road so they didnt have to worry about it. I highly doubt it.....probably too much red tape

Well, my wife claims I have the maturity level of a 12 years old.......so that could be why I get excited about it.

I am with you there. All the mud is no fun. Making good use of my muck boots.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

Sounds like a good time to me. Except I don’t have the cab and the wife usually comes out too. She shovels the porch and the walkway.

Anyone else get excited about snow?

Definitely looks like quite a bit. We won’t get nearly that much. I am a little too far from the Great Lakes. It is really hit and miss here. Some winters I am moving snow almost every week. Other winters I am lucky if I get there tractor out more than a couple of times.

They are pretty good at yelling the sky is falling and then nothing. Hope they are somewhat right this time

Anyone else get excited about snow?

I would definitely prefer the the temps of spring-fall over winter, but it is always a fun day when we get enough snow for me to break out the tractor and plow. Here in northern Indiana we are supposed to get 13"+ over the next 2 days. I already checked all tractor fluids and made sure the...

    New to Tractor Operating

Yeah!!! Those pants are a little ridiculous….. It’s my 13 year old son in the pic…..and he thinks they are awesome. I guess as long as he is helping/working with me on stuff I don’t really care if he looks funny. It really is a win that he is wearing pants….having to make a rule that you have...

    New to Tractor Operating

This is what I have done with my BX. Seemed to work fairly well. Chain around the log and then over the hook on the combo hitch.

    Tractor Mike - Skills lost

He is right about not being able to find skilled labor. There was a long period of time where kids were pushed to go to college and academics instead of learning any trade. The result now is that there is a big shortage of people that can fix/build/etc. I used to do side jobs as a handyman and...
