    Grease Cleanup

I know that this is an old post, but I just wanted to mention that I found a great way to clean off excess grease or wipe the grease nipples before greasing. Put a disposable rubber glove on your hand and then slide an old sweat sock over the glove. I'm right handed, so I put the glove and...

Regard to synthetic hydraulic oils and engine oils vs. Standard oils

I know this post is six years old, but I just wanted to comment on what you wrote. I have a good friend that raced dirt bikes for Honda. He raced in two classes, 500cc two stroke and 500 cc four stroke. Honday paid for everything as long as he held up his end of the bargain and won. Every...

    L47TLB I just bought

I looked at the speed control pedal on my tractor and wondered why they put the ear on the forward end of the pedal on the outboard side. I guess they think everyone has a 40 inch inseam? I was thinking along the lines of what you did. Have to get my lathe and mill set up and see what I can...

    L47TLB I just bought

I checked mine today and both were greased and accept grease. Perhaps the rear bushing in yours has been installed with the grease hole off register? If it's still under warranty I'd make the dealer fix it.

    L47TLB I just bought

I neglected to check those fittings. I will check them and let you know what I find.

    L47TLB I just bought

You are very lucky to have them so close to you. It was almost a 6 hour drive for me, but worth it.

    L47TLB I just bought

Thank you. I moved a downed tree yesterday and was going to play today, but it is raining. Probably Sunday I'll put some time on it digging out a large oak stump.

    L47TLB I just bought

I'm still learning the in's and out's of the machine. The speed control pedal takes a bit of getting used to, as I came off a 67 Case 680CK shuttle shift. I would say that the L62TLB would give that Case a run for her money in everything except sheer weight. I'll check on the auto level...

    L47TLB I just bought

I'm a little slow on the draw today, been up all night with my back. Are you referring to the backhoe pivot? Thank you.

    L47TLB I just bought

I just went over a L47TLB that I just bought from Messicks in Carlisle PA. I go over every vehicle that I buy, car, truck, motorcycle or tractor, as most dealers don't check anything. I found zero fluids low on the tractor, even the dreaded front axle was full to the check hole. If I wanted to...

Center blade Pulley keeps shearing off z421 kubota

I'm not familiar with that mower, but you stated that the nut that holds the pulley in place backed off? If so, and it is self locking, sometimes those nuts are only good for one use because they lost their holding power. Blade vibration will easily back them off. Good luck

    Was at my dealer today..

Very true. Angular contact ball bearings will take more thrust load than a regular bearing, but I don't believe it will take as much radial thrust. Better than a regular ball bearing for both thrust and radial load would be a deep groove ball bearing. Hold your hat on the cost, because they...

    Was at my dealer today..

For high thrust (side loading) you want to buy angular contact ball bearings. If you want them to last almost forever, with regular maintenance, buy precision angular contact ball bearings. They come in most, if not all of the sizes that regular ball bearings come in. The angular contact ball...

Why no carbon or other trouble?

I partially agree with you. Have you ever seen the youtube channel I Do Cars? He tears down engines and shows you what failed. Some of the intake ports on these engines with GDI are half closed with carbon. I have a 2018 Tacoma V6 that has both port and GDI. I took the intake off to change...

    Block heater for my L47

I looked on the online Kubota illustrated parts manual and can find no part number for the block heater for this unit. Can anyone please supply the part number. I can find block heaters for other L series tractors, but nothing list the L47 specifically. Thank you.

    Wiring, a treat to rodents

Old post, I know. Mice and rats aren't the only thing that love wire insulation. Years back I had to put a new control panel in our wall oven. Take the oven out late in the day, install the new control panel and had just enough time to shower and go to some godawful social event. The oven...

Well then, my number is another thing I can chalk up to a bad memory. Been 40 years since I went to class.
