    Puter geeks

Skeets, we just bought 75 Dell OptiPlex desktop systems with windows 10. We have not deployed all these machines but of the ones we have, 7 of them have the issue you describe. You can try going to support.dell.com....Once there you will have an option to key your service tag to get updates...

    Neighbor's cow eating our hedge

Cows are smart.....sounds like something a hot load of .410 bird shot or maybe even .22 rat shot might fix with one dose. I'd try .22 rat shot first.

    80 years ago today

My dad is no longer with us but he told us that they were all gathered around the radio listening to it and honestly thought the world had had been invaded and they were all done for. It was just a matter of time. It wasn't long after that he was off to WW2.

    BX22 Differential Inspection?

Here is what I've done to try and test things.....I engaged all three pto positions, hi/lo range gears, forward/reverse, 4wd, 2wd and put FEL against a pine tree and in low range watched it spin the left rear wheel then engaged diff lock and both rear wheels spun. after I tested everything I...

    BX22 Differential Inspection?

Wolfman, I'll do that this afternoon and see what happens. Lord I hope its not broken. I can drop the transaxle if I have to but I'd have to draw the line at opening it up.

    BX22 Differential Inspection?

I didn't have the need to use the diff lock finishing what I was doing. I'm kinda scared to use it now. I'm trying to see if I can be a little proactive with out having to remove the entire transaxle. So, I'm guessing you cant see down in to the diff housing with the pto cover off?

    BX22 Differential Inspection?

Short of pulling the transaxle, is there a way of inspecting what might be in the bottom of the differential housing? Pieces of gears, the differential lock etc? While operating the tractor this weekend I had earlier used the differential lock and while I was in a turn I heard a pop that...

    Screw log splitter

D2, I didn't look at all the pictures of that thing. I didn't realize it was something to go on a trac-hoe. With that said, I think running one of those from the cab of a 320 CAT would be fun ! :D

    Screw log splitter

A buddy had one of those that bolted to the rear axle of your vehicle. He used his on a jeep. Worked like a champ till it hung on a knot and the jeep did a skippity hop through a fence cause he didn't have a kill switch connected. It was funny until we all sat down and thought about it. Those...

Portable generator used to run most of the house

If NG quits flowing here I"ll plumb a propane bottle to it. This one is suppose to swing both sides of the tree with out any hassle...never tested it though. Also, if NG quits flowing here there will be lots of other problems to contend with too.

Portable generator used to run most of the house

Converting NG was just a suggestion. I've had a natural gas 10kw standby gen set for 20 years on my house. It runs everything I need to run in the event of an outage. So what if I loose a few watts running NG. I don't have to worry about having gasoline on hand for an extended outage. I'm 180...

Portable generator used to run most of the house

Jwal, I have a question..... You say you live far enough out to lose power frequently (I feel your pain) but yet you have access to piped in natural gas? If that's the case ditch that drum of gas and convert your generator to natural gas ! Unless you were referring to a propane water heater...

Portable generator used to run most of the house

I got lucky and stumbled on to a Generac 10kw natural gas stand by unit that my employer was selling because its capacity was outgrown. I had to buy the transfer switch and pay to have it all wired in. I've got right $1000 in the entire setup. It has been in service for 20 years and only issue...

Weld On or Bolt On Replacement A-Frame Hitch

All, I inherited a 16X6.5 foot 3500 lb tandem axle trailer. I've had it for a couple years and haven't used it at all because I just haven't had a need for it after I got it home. Today I dragged it out of the woods, cleaned it off and started inspecting it to use start using. Its in fair...
