I have never head it before since I was born 8 years later. My father told me that he didn't hear it that night but read in the paper the next morning about all the people that believed it was a real news broadcast.

My dad is no longer with us but he told us that they were all gathered around the radio listening to it and honestly thought the world had had been invaded and they were all done for. It was just a matter of time. It wasn't long after that he was off to WW2.
