I believe that the 31 is the diameter of the tire.

If you have not already done so, I would suggest operating both the curl and lift cylinders through their full range with no load a few times to help push the air out of the cylinders. I imagine that air could find its way around the internal cylinder seals. I have no hydraulic experience but...

Have you contacted Thomas Downs about this issue? I had some issues with my Zero Turn purchase there back in 2016. I thought that they had resolved the issues with their mechanics.
