    Clutch switch continuity

Curious, so I downloaded the WSM as TOH posted...wiring diagram is on page 290,near the back. It appears power goes from battery-->key switch-->5A fuse-->starter relay-->PTO switch-->range switch--> earth(aka ground ) There is no 'clutch' on that HST, but in order to start the tractor the...

    What would you do?

re: Once you go Zero turn you'll never go back! well I went back ! After 3, yes, THREE, different zero turns ,including a TORO with a Kubota diesel in it, I went back to a 'riding mower'. In my situation(health and property) ,the rider is the better choice. also 'bigger is better' isn't...

    Which types of grease?

re: I wish I had a hot water pressure washer to clean off all the old grease around various pins Actually spraying WD-40 on the area will loosen/soften old grease up. Spray, wait 2-3 minutes(listen to a song...)Just have lots of rags to wipe the 'yuck' off. Might take 2-3-4 applications...

    Tiller Help

I know from rewiring electric PTOs on riders that there's an important sequence of tightening the tension nuts ! It's very important to use feeler gauge and follow the instructions. You just can't 'go round the clock and snug up the nuts'.....

    Tiller Help

I'd have thought King Kutter would have 'how-to-adjust-slip-clutch' instructions in the manual or online ?? it IS a critical adjustment. too little---burned out clutch, too much --- busted tiller

    Unknown use of round knobs

you can try to search here, a previous post, long long ago has pictures of the manual for them.... you can take picture of the writing and let Google translate you can wait a bit longer and someone will hopefully post/explain what they do.

    Hydraulic HST filter change

Usually a good 'rubber strap' wrench, snug, at the base and a good stout pull will remove the filter. Just LOOK where you're at, PLAN ahead ,in case it lets loose real fast. When flesh hits steel, steel ALWAYS wins....

    Tiller Help

OK, remove entire PTO shaft 1) with tiller in the air...rotate the tiller input shaft, do the tines spin ? 2) with tiller on the ground, rotate the tiller input shaft, do the tines spin ? these tests eliminate the PTO shaft and clutch ....process of elimination. if #2 is true, tiller 'drive...

    Brake light switch

looks like you'll need 2 'jumper wires', each with 1/4" female insulated spade connectors on the ends. after you make and confirm it works, decide HOW to secure the wiring so it can't be ripped off the tractor OR make a second set NOW ( then you'll never need them....... ) ;)

    Ballast weights

things are different up here ,north of the 49th. there's a bounty (core charge) for rotors as well shops haul to scrappers for delivery to China. If they were all the same, AL's setup could be a 'packer'....

    Tiller Help

do th efollowing to eliminate the slip clutch... if YOU ( tractor off ! ) ,disconnect PTO, and spin the input to the tiller right angle gear box, the tines should rotate. if you block the tines(prevent from moving) and spin the input to the tiller gear box,the tines won't move and you cannot...

Sounds like you need to replace the slip clutch discs, then properly adjust for correct tension. Similar to 'riding the clutch' in a car.....

Good Works Tractor Co. and their latest Quick Hitch

it really doesn't matter where they're made, it's WHO designed it ! They should have practical experience in USING the 'device'.

I suggest welding some 1/4 thick bar stock to minimize that gap. 30thou would be OK ! Even though I'm 'north of the 49th', I KNOW what .28" is....;) One huge problem with excessive gap is 'lateral teetertotter' damage..

    Broke pin BH-77

hmm, maybe swinging the boom with a very heavy uneven load in bucket ,then stopped PDQ ?? Pondering HOW the pin broke in the center. In theory,no real 'load' there as outer ends of pin support weight.

What's up with some new members?

As others have pointed out, it's NOT just this forum. Have 2,sigh, 'know-it-all' neighbours... 1st one has spent 3 YEARS working on an 80' retaining wall, that's at most 3' tall(tapered grade..), still not done of course, though 'concrete coming next week'..Adjacent neighbours are 'fed up' as...

    Broke pin BH-77

you'll have to determine which side is 'good' and secure that one to an immovable object THEN try the threaded rod trick. if you don't secure the good side, tightening the rod may bend the good side towards the bad. when I do this , I tighten a full turn, then pause for 10-15 seconds, repeat...

Good Works Tractor Co. and their latest Quick Hitch

Sounds more like AI BS than a real person responding... I'd like 'him' to post the list of QH makers that leave 7/8" gap in their product. Since it's a 'standard design', it should be EASY to show the list. that way we could go to their website's and SEE the 'gap'. While I have zero use for a...
