    Chipper/shredders opinions...

Same. I rake em up into piles and burn them. Sometimes I'll dump them on top of stumps I want to burn out and burn them. It works good to get rid of stumps. Areas where I dont want to kill my grass with fires I just mow them into powder with the lawn mower. The thought of owning a wood chipper...

    Fuel can options

Well perhaps that is the answer to my question. Was the whole "no galvanized can for diesel" issue back before low sulfur diesel? Perhaps with today's diesel this is no longer an issue. This is what Im trying to find out. Its very likely this is old warnings that are no longer relevant. Was...

Not much. On the spec sheet the two tractors are less than 100lbs weight difference. The 2601 is ever so slightly larger. There is 2 Horsepower difference to the PTO, so a tad more headroom for tillers and rotary cutters on the 2601. They have the same exact hydraulic pump flow, so they will...

    Fuel can options

Its been touched on here but folks have been glossing over it. These Eagle cans, and Justrite metal cans that are super popular (and highly reviewed most places) are all powder coated galvanized steel cans. I have read that you should never use galvanized metal cans with diesel fuel. Something...

Front Drive Shaft Tube Damage - L2501

Oh wow. How did that happen I wonder? Looks almost like friction damage, as if something rubbed against it time and time again until it rubbed a hole? Any insight on how this damage occured? Would just like to personally be aware so I can avoid it happening to mine

    Ulysses S. Grant

If you enjoy the subject matter, it is a fantastic book. You will find it hard to put down once you start. Most of my books these days I "read" or "consume" via Audio book. Audio books have allowed me to really step up how fast I can get through a book. Grant for example is about a 45 Hour long...

    Adding expanded metal to grapple.

Looks good! My mistake was not using primer before I painted it. I just went straight on with the paint. Where the grill has now been dinged, it tends to scratch the paint off a little, but the expanded metal and the welds have all held up really good. Gives me a lot more peace of mind when I...

I would 2nd that as well. I would not buy a BX tractor. Just too small, too limited. You have more acreage and projects - similar to myself and others. If you are gonna invest in a tractor get something that will do all the work you want it to do, dont cut yourself short. You will regret it in 5...

    Ulysses S. Grant

Aye fuzzydawg. I may one day read Grants memoir's. I typically like to read a 3rd person so that you get perhaps a more balanced view of events. I am familiar with grants memoirs however as they have helped offer historians a lot of information. Chernow, in his book on Grant which I am reading...

https://www.amazon.com/Eagle-UI-50-SY-Safety-Diesel-Capacity/dp/B0030VGYWO/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 I use the above can. Although, I may change after I do some more research. Ive read in places that diesel shouldnt be stored in galvanized metal cans. So far, I have always went...

Hey Greg and welcome. I think you would love the tractor youre looking at, considering the little JD lawn tractor youve been using - this B 2301 will be a nice upgrade for you. I think after reading your post it really comes down between 2 options in my eyes. Either you go for the 2301 with...
