Yea the old men I occasionally have coffee with like to brag to try and make others feel inferior. One morning last week the subject was about constipation, difficulty urinating and having to get up several times throughout the night. Seemed most all suffered with one or both except one old...
This is a case of "if you must ask, just don't do it". Not all condenser cleaners nor condensers are created equal. Some is highly acidic and intended to etch aluminum. If condenser has copper lines they will be damaged. I don't recall the manufacture(s) but some use tinsel instead of fins...
But the head gasket was cleaned and re-coated with sealer before each use. I knew a guy with a house full of kids and no money that washed head gaskets and hung them up to dry so they could be re-used. 😊
If you've never used an HVLP sprayer you don't know what you are missing out on. Far less overspray than rattlers and conventional sprayers. Rattle cans are handy for small touch-up but it requires multiple coats to equal a single coat from spray gun.
Other than at dealer it's hard to...
No way of knowing what is going on from this distance but it doesn't sound good. I've been pooh-poohed and compared to Chicken Little for saying a single event can do catastrophic damage to a diesel engine. I see people hanging 5 and 6 foot mowers on compact tractors but if your mower is any...
Joe gave me credit for promoting this longest thread in history,I'll not let you steal the thunder at this stage of the game. Pay him no mind Joe, just carry on as you were.
Dag nap it, don't you know all that "can't work" stuff was covered more than 700 posts back. If you mess around and...
It started when he wouldn't follow DR's orders so the little woman changed the lock on his shop and told him to come see her after he's fully recovered.
I heard about a guy with that exact setup and the way he said it worked was "when people see it they can't stop thinking about it". Come to find out he wasn't a ham at all, just a phycologist with a sense of humor. 🤭
First order of business is stop working it until this is fixed. This isn't your Grandpaw's gas powered engine that can survive some overheating without permeant damage. If a diesel engine isn't shutdown at first sign of overheating it can easily crack the head, melt piston, blow head gasket...
Shouldn't require more than one providing he cleans the gasket with brush, diesel and compressed air before each use. Might help to coat gasket with JB Weld.
This raises a couple of questions. Were you able to repair it or was it bought for parts? Other question calls for opinion or best guess. Do you think engine froze TWICE, once when something cracked allowing water to enter pan after it thawed then a second time when water in pan froze...
Joe hasn't said what he plans to do with these tractors so what I say is directed at what on lookers were overheard to say.
To say it's ok and buyer beware when selling something that has been jerry-rigged is shameful. To publicly preen about one's high morals then turn around and say it's ok...
