    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

Today I installed the quick attach. I am so loving this thing already. I haven't timed it yet, but I think I can change out the implement in well under thirty seconds. Potatoes grow pretty big around these parts

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I'll take the bait ... it's for shaking the snow off the roof?

    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

Exactly. I bought it primarily for use in my garden, and for that the smaller size will be an advantage. I am actively cultivating the mindset of exploring its capabilities and when I find a limitation where I actually can't do something, I think "ok, that will be a job for a rented excavator"...

    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

I suppose you're right ... I'll have to take a closer to look to see what's actually taking the compressive load when the thumb is in the stowed position. It still seems like bad form though. Even with a fairly modest load, I noticed I wasn't able to get the boom fully upright ... close but not...

OH cool. I'm hoping to get my QA on tomorrow (wednesday). I agree with you about the ripper. And those teeth are actually somewhat sharp!

    Missing bolt

I think there actually is a spacer ... if you look at the parts diagram, the spacer is quite short relative to the shank of the bolt, which appears to be a shouldered bolt. I guess the bolt goes through that upper plate so it can be removed. (EDIT) Actually, I think it's related to a vibration...

    B2650 suddenly won't start

When I saw the Dynabrade, the first thing that crossed my mind was "bicycle tools" ... found the Park Tool SCW-26, also $10. Park Tools makes an entire set from 13mm to 28mm

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I opened up the control station on my BX23S backhoe to see exactly what was making one of the levers completely loose and find out what parts I would need to order. Saw that the bolt was backing out for the other control arm too. Was happy to find the bearing still in place, and that any parts...

    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

I got the thumb installed yesterday and played around a little both with picking things up and digging to start understanding its capabilities and limitations. This is completely new to me. I can see that the ripper will be useful in situations where a larger machine could just break roots with...

Keep in mind that the threaded part of the switch body has flats on it that you can also put a box-end wrench on

    I've been shafted!

Ok, I actually read the wikipedia article. For those who don't read the article ... the engine was initially designed as a short-life engine for use in missiles and drones, so perhaps the term "tenacious" might be more appropriate than "durable". Durability arrives with the introduction of the...

    B2650 suddenly won't start

I just did some quick checking ... here's a link to the exploded parts diagram, available on Messicks.com. I also attached the PDF to this message. I think your switch is assembly #060. The boot is #080...

    B2650 suddenly won't start

Looks like the rubber boot is a bit chewed up too ... do I see a hole in it? If so, you might want to replace the boot if you can ... help keep water and muck out of the switch itself. Like Bill, it made me smile to see you found the problem. So satisfying. I suspect that you can get the switch...

    I've been shafted!

Sounds like the old joke about the steam locomotive repair man who submitted a $1,000 invoice for having fixed the locomotive by whacking it with a mallet. When his invoice was challenged, he submitted a new invoice with two line items. "Whacking the locomotive: $1, knowing where to whack the...

I realized you cancelled this question, but it is still a valid one, even though BXpanded says the QA and thumb are compatible. My QA is coming in on monday but I won't be able to install it until the following week, but here are some pictures from the BXpanded web site of the thumb and bucket...

    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

This is interesting ... I wonder how much difference there is between the BXpanded and the Tractor Attachment products. For a minute I thought they might be made by the same manufacturer, but the BXpanded products are made in USA and the Tractor Attachment products are made in Canada. And then I...

    Attachments for BX23S backhoe

I originally was going to hold off on getting the QA. But then someone (can't remember if it was you) described a situation where there might be swapping during a job rather than between jobs. Based on that, I decided to order the QA. Plus, I also have the thumb (not yet installed), which I...
