I oversized my rams to 2" you can get away with 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" rams.
Speed is OK, It would be a little faster with 1.5" rams, and maybe a different spool valve.
All in all I'm very happy with the build, I haven't been able to put enough weight on the 3 point to stop the loader from picking the backend off the ground, I've lifted 1K+ pounds without a problem.

I finished adding to the sub-frame, without these the main mounting bolt were getting worked a little.
With the rest of the supports in place it doesn't move at all!:D

I wasn't happy about the grease zerk fitting location on the 2 front pins on the loader arm, so I ended up making grease pins instead, much better way to do it!

Looks like that will also take some strain off the belhousing connection which is a good thing. Pretty sure all the factory subframes reinforce that area ,i think my 8200's subframe goes all the way to the rear end housing.

Nice job on the pins, thats a lot of drilling.

and btw...studded tires???

What you don't have a set of those?
They are all the rage this year!:D
Great for taking you Kubota for a spin on the frozen lakes!

They are an example of how to overcome an overwhelming "Need more traction requirement"!
They are studded snow tires off of a K5 Blazer that I have a set of 2 link crossbar snow chains for, and they happened to be the same height as the R1's that I have for it. Ballasted with calcium chloride they weigh in at 175lbs each, better than the 110lbs of the R1's.
I live way up north in the Idaho mountains and have an average of about 4 feet of snow on the ground all winter long, and a lot more when it's snowing!
Our driveway is 1/4 mile long and some of it is 10% grade for about 500ft so I need all the traction I can get! I also snowplow or blow 1/4 mile of private road too to get to the county road. So with 1/2 mile of work I'll take all the traction I can get!;)

No sure don't and if I needed them I would concider moving further down the coast.lol

I do have chains on my 2wd 8200 hoping not to need them on my 4wd 2620

Wolfman, I have finished my FEL on the old B7100 manual, and it works well. I would post photos, but this site rejects anything big enough to actually see, so I'm a bit baffled about that.
The cross frame bolts to the front trio of bolt-holes on the transmission case which were probably intended for a belly mower mount. There's an ear each side going forward to bolt to the lower pair of aft bolts on the front suspension bracket, and another longish bracket going aft to bolt up under the rear diff. So the weight and twisting moments are taken on three points as widely separated as seemed practicable.
The two uprights of the frame are bolted to the ends of the cross frame, and there is a pair of forward braces from part-way up the uprights going to a bit of 100 x 100 angle bolted to the front of the front suspension bracket. The whole thing's probably overkill, but it's not likely to either fall apart or damage the tractor.
The hydraulics work well, using the existing pump and taking the feed as I said in a previous post, off the outlet under the seat.
Later: Have uploaded photos – see next page.

Anyone who wants photos is welcome to PM me and I'll happily email them. They're about 1.5MB each.

Ole Murphy is kinda blunt but he's correct about resizing the pics, there's plenty of free programs to do that with.
Those of us that pay for our data by the mb appreciate that a lot.

OK, here are some pictures. Please excuse the rust on the engine cover - all Kubotas tend to have this problem, I'm told, and as it's not structural and a replacement cover is ridiculously expensive, I'm putting up with the holes.
The steering was very heavy with the extra weight on the front, so I have increased the tyre pressure from 14psi to 20, and put the 50-litre spray tank full of water on the 3-point at the back. This has made a world of difference.

Mike,
Looks like you've got it all worked out! Great job!
I'm getting ready to make a snow pusher for both the B and the L.
Looks like the B is going to be headed to my mothers place to help keep them from becoming snow bound.
I'll post some pics shortly.

Thanks, Wolfman. I must admit to a feeling of great satisfaction at making this thing. It was quite a project.
Snow! Thankfully we don't get snow here, 60 feet above sea level at 35° south latitude. The occasional mild frost is about as cold as it gets.
Good luck with your builds, and thanks for the encouragement.

It is extremely satisfying when I make things :D ... Then it's total shock when they actually work!

Great job,
You could have probably saved some money with smaller hoses.
I used fiberglass cloth to repair the holes in my B8200's hood then gave it and the side panels a new protective coat of spray can orange, too bad the rest of the tractor still looks like a spotted leopard. lol

Thanks!
The hoses are 3/8", which is common in these parts. I had a professional in to do them, by the way. I don't have the gear to swage the end fittings. I haven't had the bill yet, and I'm not looking forward to it!
The hood has been weld-repaired by some previous owner. I did wonder about glassing and spraying it, but the tractor is a tool and not an art object, and as a pensioner I need to be a bit careful not to spend on inessentials.

Further to my last – I did eventually get the bill for the hoses, and it was three times the cost of the steel. So the whole build came to around NZ$3000, which was double the budget, and more than I paid for the tractor complete with flail mower in the first place! (NZ$1 = US$0.82 at present.)
Never mind, the FEL has proved very useful and has saved my ageing back. And when I put my wife in the bucket she can trim the top of the 6' hedge while kneeling down!
