Picked up a bigger back blade for scraping the driveway today, 7 foot which will come in handy seeing as I added 3 inch spacers to the LX2610 last fall for an increase in stability plus clearance for tire chains.

Is this a view of your truck's bed or a trailer? At first glance it looks like a truck bed haha.

I took a chance.... I emptied the 100g transfer tank (died) last fall. I haven't done much with the tractors and the 6x4 only sips diesel. I have a 55g drum that was filled full at the same time. The fuel is over 3 years old. When I brought the stuff home I knew it would be a while but I didn't expect 3+ years. I added stabilizer when I set the drum. Sealed the bung tight and it has a riser. So there it's sat for all this time - 105+ in the summer but not in direct sun and some neg temps in the winter. It was closed tight the whole time.

What to do? If the fuel is a problem the ol B7100 manual is the guy to experiment, forgive me for it being the sacrificial lamb. I had 1/3 tank and filled it with the old fuel on top of other old fuel ;). No water and I pumped slow so I could watch the bowl.

It runs just fine. I'm not suggesting anyone do this but what do you do with a drum of old fuel? I had to try it. If anything it is time to freshen up the fuel system on the B7100. But no, no problem. I don't need to do anything to the old B7100. I greatly respect that old machine - it's like the lunker at the county fair.

Don't do this but you can.

That's crazy! I don't think I seen a pick up with a bed camera like that before. What if you put a headache rack or a cap on? Surely it will block the view. Haha.
Pretty common on newer trucks. My 21 F350 has a bed camera.

Another day of clearing land. So the land owner hired me for 3 days, he doesn't live here and he showed up today and then he hired me for a few more days. He really likes my work, so that's a good thing. Didn't take much pictures today.

Not gonna leave the grease gun out over night anymore.

This bar ditch coming from the road was a bit dangerous, it was steep enough to overturn the orange if not careful.

I cut/smooth off the edges of the bar ditch to be a bit more tractor and livestock friendly.

Replaced the plow marker that broke earlier this week. For those in need, I highly recommend a set from Winter Equipment.

I can see the purpose of the edge markers if running on the street and you want to let other vehicles know where the blade is, but I don't really see a need for them if you stay on your property. Perhaps I'm missing something .... oh yeah .... both edge markers! 😂😂

If I were to replace them, I would look for an edge marker with a spring mount of some sort so that they can move without breaking off, but the ones you got do look to be well designed and virtually indestructible and maybe the best deal out there.

Hopefully the product is better than their spelling abilities. 😂😂

Your certainly not wrong and they can definitely be a nuisance around other objects. However, in the increasingly rare instances where we get 2-3' of snow, they are helpful to know where the ends of the plow are.

Fell a dead Ash tree yesterday and used the grapple to pull it down the hill to the driveway. Cut it up into 80" logs and took them to the "splitting area".

I have been out of commission. Had the knee worked on last week.
Our daughter cleaned the driveway and has been keeping the fire wood stocked.
She likes the heated cab on the tractor.

The way I understand...these are to let you know where the cutting edge is. I have a rubber flap on my plow to prevent snow from going over the plow and to let it roll, so it's hard to tell exactly where the cutting edge is.

For me the markers help big time especially when back dragging in front of garage doors. I can get the cutting edge like with in a half inch of door because of the markers.

That's how I've always used them anyways.

I think they can come in more handy for us with smaller tractors that can't fully see the front of the blade from the operator's station. @mcmx being on his M or MX has an advantage with a higher operator station than those using a b or L series. It also comes with use and familiarity with your machine.

A saturday morning of pushing sticks around. I need a grapple. Finally got our back road cleared off...for now.

Alot of our pines took a hard hit last year with the drought. Then some sort of beetle come through and really F'ed stuff up....bunch of jerks. Pines are crumbling around here.

I understand the intent, just not sure about the need, at least for me anyway. I have no problem seeing the outer edges of the front hydraulic blade, but as @biketopia said, perhaps that's down to the view I have from the operator's seat, or the height of the moldboard, or depth of snow etc.

The ones that came with the blade I have were designed to fail, but the ones linked to by @je1279 seem to be a lot better. They're certainly cheap enough that it might be worth the risk to buy and try ... we'll see.

For the last two weeks its been like in the single digits during the day and below zero at night. Last night we got a little bit of snow, it was only couple inches but yesterday we got an inch from a snow squall so since today was sunny, not a cloud in the sky and in the mid 30s I decided to go out and clean up the driveway. Did I need to? Nope. But I been going through a depressive episode, life just sucks sometimes but it was nice to get on the tractor and do something to get my mind off things. What do they call it again? Tractor therapy?

It was nice feeling the warmth of the sun, forgot what it felt like haha. This really cold weather was sucking!

The snow banks were quite solid, surprised the tractor was able to just break right through it. Put it in low and lightly pushed in and lifted and curled the plow at same time and broke all the frozen snow banks. I'm impressed. My SxS wouldn't know what to do besides just spin 🤣

Got 15 hours under my belt already and I'm really happy with this tractor thus far.

Also...why is it that every time you go plowing and you want to back out into the road...there's a line of 500 cars you need to wait for.to go by? I live like in the middle of nowhere. When I don't plow, there are no cars!!

PXL_20250127_220307668.jpg

When I install the 3rd function on the tractor, I'm def gonna put one or two cylinders on this. Kinda sucks having to get off everytime to change the angle, it's not a big deal but man it sure will be nice to angle it from the seat, will make plowing even faster! But then again, don't mind it taking a little longer either 😉

Just started it to run a while. Also greased the snowblower.

Been below zero for several nights and no snow.

Looks like we have snow in the forecast. Above freezing and windy today.

Probably should have run the generator for a while too, but did that a couple weeks ago…..🥺
