The Buick t-type, is it an '87? I had a '69 Caprice that was a Tonawanda dealer prep car, very nice car.

I don’t recall but think 86 or 87.

I didn’t notice a Grand National in the mix. I know they were looking for one.

Doubt I could find it, but we had a Corvair with a clear rear hood so you could see the engine.

We had the rear of the car situated so our customers could see it well.

Apparently was a dealership showroom feature if I recall correctly.

We had a complete engine (and transmission?) on a stand right next to the rear of the Corvair so visitors could see the drivetrain.

I know exactly what you are referring to about the clear engine cover. I have one that I got out of a Chevrolet dealership in the 1980s, along with a cutaway 4-speed Corvair Transmission. When I visited the Chrysler Museum about a decade ago, they had a Corvair Drivetrain that was a cutaway and had an electrical motor that turned the flywheel and it in turn drove all the pistons, valves, etc. It was a very interesting display piece, but out of place in a Chrysler museum.

I was at Museum last week for a meeting.

At the end we took a delivery.

1941 Lincoln Continental V12. Looked at the engine but didn’t get a picture.

Trust me, there are 12 cylinders….

Real beauty. AACA would call this a “full classic.” Special car.

The new red leather interior smelled so good….. Smelled like the tack room in a horse b

In front of it on the truck was a 53 or 54 Corvette. Looked straight and true. It didn’t stay with us.

Above the Corvette was a 1967 Chevy Impala SS….with a 427!

Been a while since I posted here.

Since my retirement I've been able to spend more time at the museum.

We were moving some of the Pre-War vehicles around today in Building 1 and our "Made in New York" Exhibit in Building 3.

Just got a couple pictures today. Didn't get the two Chase trucks (same engineer named Chase went from Franklin, then his own brand and later became Brockway I think).

While I walked by the Post-War cars in Building 2 multiple times I didn’t get any pictures of the Shelby’s etc…..

Pierce-Arrows were made in New York.

I was back today for a couple meetings and some other stuff.

Was around some of our more modern vehicles again and took a few pictures.

A lot of “us guys” can relate better to these….

was at the neighbors Sunday and asked him if I could take some pics of his cars. He declined, said he didn't want to get them out. Understandable. I'll snap pics next time he drives by. 68 GT500 all original 1 owner (he bought it new when he came back from overseas). Also has a non-original boss 9, said he always wanted one but couldn't find an original so he had one built.

I'm about burned out on "cars" and have mine on the market.

Tinkering with a Hupmobile today.

Got it running in good order with help of a colleague that is really good at this stuff.

Canister where master cylinder normally would be is a vacuum fuel pump.

I learned a lot of things today.

You have quite a bit to do in your retirement RCW!
Love the old cars or farm machinery too.
I have been thru there a couple of times, seems like I will have to get over there again.
I'm a fan of old ramblers and was looking for one a few years ago but they were crazy prices for something from the 60's with no floor left in them. I wound up buying nice 2006 miata to hold me over and love that now.

Been thru the one up in Homer a couple times too, its name escapes me but it is where A.B. Brown was for years.

Bill - depending on when you were here we’ve grown quite a bit. Up to about 200 vehicles now in 5 connected buildings. Started with 50 in 1997 in one building.

That place in A.B. Brown is CNY Living History Museum or similar. Haven’t been there but driven by. Think they also have the barn next door to the south with tractors?

Looks like a big place with neat stuff and I need to get there myself.

(Many years ago I was a short order cook at Garry’s Riverside Diner….know the neighborhood. I think you worked just up the road. Loved Natoli’s Market next door to the diner. )

Probably 6-8 years ago now that I think about it with the whole covid period figured in.
I remember Garry's but that is really going back a ways.
Yes I worked at Albany Int for about 26 years, bought lunch a lot at Natolis . There was a couple of women that ran the deli lunch stuff when I was going there some more names that escape me. Always good food. Then settled into daily lunch at Steve and Lou's dinner next door. Both those places gone now too.

So now I know why you love to cook too!

Im feel so sorry for you guys that didnt/couldnt drive a 50s or 60s machine,,, The cars from the 70s on up have no soul

exactly the same thing the "congressman" (I can think of a ton of names for him) said. IOW, screw you and your vehicle that you spend your hard earned money to restore, redo, or just buy it because it ain't got the same soul as a 1960 starliner (or whatever your fetish is). To us folks who do our best with what little we have to deal with, that's the kind of statement that kicks us in the guts and I don't have much appreciation for it.

IOW, you're favoritism towards 1950's and 1960's cars trumps everyone else's.
