Were very thankful to find a quality contractor. Father, son, 2 uncles and 3 workers, over 150 years of roofing experience. No money down ect.
The crew stayed 2 nights up in a hotel in Kenedy about 25min away. I paid in full yesterday with a $19k cashiers check and the estimate price was also the final price, no hidden fees or bs or upselling after the fact. Discovery Roofing was the 2nd lowest bid out of 4 bids that we got.
The 12in spacing on the clips was to meet the wind zone 2 category.

Enid Livestock Market You may be right. What concerns me in northern Missouri the last Two years we have been besieged with cows. Most all to packer. I understand as an auctioneer I’ve sold many cows in the 40 cent range now regularly 130s 40s and higher. It used to be a short solid cow in the second period went back to the farm. [ referring to a fairly large number]? Now they are packer bound. Our herds are getting smaller. Where there were once cows grazing the ground including rolling ground has been converted to soybeans. My neighbors who have always had 200 cows are now row crop. Oh by the way 200 cows is big for this area. Their reasons are they are getting older and their 30 year old offsprings would rather set in a tight cabbed tractor than deal with the cow operation. I’m curious is this the norm in other areas? Politically we have never been popular. I understand. Senator Warren and Cory Booker have introduced a bill twice that I know that ALL cafo’s are no longer allowed….Further all feed lots poultry, hogs and cattle are closed by 2040. We all need to be aware of this. Further on political correctness. The No Implants. This as we all know have nothing to do with the safety of beef consumption….I will get off my corner post and would like to hear feedback from those in our industry. Thank You.

As of June 2024, the number of cattle in Texas has been decreasing for four years in a row, reaching its lowest levels since 1961. According to the USDA, the state's cattle numbers decreased by 4% in 2023 compared to the previous year.Tim Owens

I don't have enough to matter, but it is interesting to know where it might be going.
Exactly, same here, many neighbors downsized as well. A couple big ranch owners I talked to are going back to hunting lease/income with having a lot less cows because of the ongoing droughts.

This pen was set up by the prior owner, I'm just now messing with it, gonna feed protien as this location. I'm going to clean the pen enough for deer to have enough room enter/egress, gonna keep it kind wild in there.

Don’t hold me to statistics but recall somethings from RFDTV couple times recently.
Some reduction of available was due to feed escalation and accessibility to processing during COVID.
Some reduction was repurposed acres as the fellows say.
Our cow numbers have increased recently due to expansion of larger dairies. Our number of dairies has dropped precipitously recently.
If I had to guess, numbers of beef animals have also increased due to the defunct dairies converting to beef. However, it’s immaterial in the grand scheme. Often it’s 20-40 head versus 100 on the farm when they were milking.
Last I read, USDA said the US has been on the decline last couple years, feed costs, wild fires, drought, packing plants/contamination/disease, and consumers opting for other lower cost meat choices (pork/poultry etc.). Regions not effected so much by wildfires and drought etc. I could see their numbers increasing by the lure of increased beef prices. I'm no longer in the business, I started a new young herd last year just run minimum head of 7 animal units per the county to just keep my taxes at $95.
Been a busy week. Boys have moved out and offf to college. I drove my youngest son and helped him move in. He does not have a truck yet or exposure to big city driving. Go Aggies! One boy is a Jr. at College Station TX A&M and our youngest a freshman at TX A&M Galveston.

I need more work shirts, I like pearl snap long sleeves, I usually buy at 2nd hand stores, cause all it takes is one snag on barb wire or a thorned tree to shred a shirt. I didn't find any snap shirts, but I did pick up a $2 'orange...' Kubota/Sthil/Echo/Husqvarna/Whataburger/Home Depot etc. colored long sleeve shirt.
BTW, I have a copyright Trademark pending for, "What can orange do for you" Of course my Trademark can be forsale, lol.

Already drier than a popcorn fart out here, looks like a crispy week ahead. Heat index ranges 106 to 114* expected.
I am not familiar with the product. I have never seen it for sale. How do you mix it, do they consume it quickly? Cost?
There are various brands out there.
I only do this when the heat index is greater than 110* which has been most of this week. I mix a bit stronger than packing label, but they do not suck it down to fast either.
