Probably because I was a commercial cook 37 years ago, I’m really hard on gas grills at home.
Melted countless cheapies that lasted 3 years after replacing burners once or twice.
I don’t use charcoal or have a smoker.
My favorite was a Vermont Castings grill I got 12 years out of. It was huge but the facia that held the burner valves corroded away and it became unsafe.
The grill grates were cast, and 39” (1m) wide. Had a great wide rack above the grates an 6 infinitely-adjustable gas valves.
Paid a lot more for it, but I was still $$ ahead from 4 replacements.
This is far from my favorite, but has held up really well.
Weber Summit Stainless Steel 4-burner blah, blah, blah. Too small (for me) and valves are not infinitely adjustable (has a “low” setting you can’t go lower).
That said, Guessing it’s had 1,500 pounds of propane through it. Original burners, although looks like they need some adjusting.
I’m still not a fan of it but can say it’s been through a lot of screaming hot battles and keeps coming back for more.
