Further, regarding grade: I use data, factual and anecdotal, from the 1940's and 50's. Therefore, I choose a straight grade such as SAE 50. "If it's good enough for the Pratt & Whitney Double Wasp then it's good enough for my BX23S lawn mower."

I can't fault your thought process or what influences you. I don't generally get influenced by adds featuring "scantily clad wimmenz", but last year there was a life-sized poster in a local boat dealership and I was smitten. I don't have any desire for whatever these women are standing on, or the gizmo that one of them is holding, but that girl in the front .... wow!

Oil filter should be HH164-32430,

If so, you can oversize to Fram PH8a / Wix 51515,
or double oversize to Wix 51773
Rock Auto is a good place to get parts, but watch the shipping…

Check your air filter, Kubota is leaving out the inner air filter, only the outer is present.
You can add the inner no problem..

Any full synthetic CK4 rated 5W-40 works in a Kubota, I just used Shell Rotella T6 because it is easy to find, and reasonably priced…
