For sure! We do all sorts of tricks to try to prevent fats making its way into our septic system and are fortunate there is just the 2 of us. If we had kids I would install a trap as opposed to paying for pumping. Anyone with previous commercial kitchen experience knows all about grease traps!Dunno about code, but it's a good way to extend the life of your septic system.
