Deere & Co. plans to launch a new fertilizer technology and an electric excavator to help customers be more productive and sustainable.
The equipment company announced the new technologies during its keynote address at the CES 2023 event on Thursday.
Deere said its ExactShot technology uses sensors and robotics to place starter fertilizer on seeds as they are planted in the soil. This should help farmers reduce the amount of starter fertilizer needed during planting by more than 60%, the company said.
The electric excavator is designed to provide construction workers and road builders with lower daily operating costs, reduced jobsite noise, zero emissions and enhanced machine reliability, Deere said.
