Some homecoming activity photos from Friday, my daughter graduated last year and is now a freshman at the University of Portland but her former high school has adopted me as their volunteer photographer. The yearbook/journalism teacher told me having only done a few guest lectures for the school I haven't earned enough credits to graduate yet
The afternoon started with the girls' Powder Puff flag football competition and they take it very seriously and added a little too much tackling to the mix. When I was taking photos of the cheerleaders prior to the night game, one had several bandages from her earlier game and I told her the reason we don't encourage girls to go out for the guys team is girls are too violent once you hand them a football and put them on the field.
I have shot a lot of HS football and a few college games and the only time I have been tackled on the sidelines was at last year's powder puff game when the softball pitcher kept going once she was several yards out of bounds. It was pretty funny and Emily told me as we were getting up off the ground that the only important field markings are on the softball field.
The guys had a close game for the first half but then the home team opened up a 3 TD lead for a happy homecoming win.
