Cross your fingers maybe? LOLI just realized I put UDT oil in instead of 10W30 for my oil change in my BX2380
I have 3 hours use with the oil.
Clearly I need to drain and change the oil and filter ASAP but is there anything else I need to do
Agreed. Change it (and filter) and run it as normal. No need for a second oil or filter change. No issue at all, if anything you've just cleaned it out.
Carry on!
You are less bone headed than the guys skipping oil changes altogether!Hi guys,
Thanks for all the advice.
Oil has been drained for a few hours and changed. New oil filter too of course.
I didn't notice anything different or any sounds other than the usual so I'm assuming there was not enough time to wreck anything if at all.
I won't be as bone headed the next time.
Engine oils and hydraulic/gear oils are very different animals. Engine oil is full of very important additives. The presence of those engine oil additives in a hydraulic system or drive line do not cause significant problems. The absence of those engine oil additives when a hydraulic oil is used in an engine WILL cause very significant problems if used for any length of time. You are less bone headed than the guys skipping oil changes altogether!
Other than a few additives your UDT oil is similar to your engine oils.

Little different but I once put in 1 qt of tranny fluid by accident in with the other 3 or 4 quarts of oil when changing the oil in a gas engine. Ran it the normal 10k miles between oil changes with no noticeable issues.
