I'm just glad my commute to work is only 8 miles. I feel bad for folks that have a long commute. I'll be riding the motorcycle to work a lot this summer I suspect.

Mines 45 miles one way. I've been going back and forth as much as possible with my work truck.

I use to ride the scooter as much as I could, when I could ride. It started getting real scary with people on the phone or texting. After a few too close for comfort calls, I went back to driving the truck I figured I had a better chance in it.

The ANWR exploration was approved through a Federal Budget Bill. It was/is unconstitutional for a President to halt the project.

Seeing someone texting and driving is a normal occurrence around here. What floored me was the soccer mom in the big suv flying down the interstate with a laptop wedged between the dash and windshield with the buggy full of kids.

That laptop was blocking out at least half her view in front of her causing some seriously significant blind spots.

I just checked Gas Buddy for near me. In IL. Ranges from $4.19 to $5.35.

What is odd, the $4.19 is only 2 miles from me, which is usually much higher than across the state line, which is @ $4.99 right now. The $4.19 is from 16 minutes ago. It is only .10 higher than regular. Others are showing $4.79 within 5 miles. With my TSD Diesel card, the lowest anywhere near me is $4.18.

I actually got an email yesterday from the TSD company that said that the prices are changing so fast, they can't update their app to reflect the prices fast enough.

I was on my way to pick up a new trailer this am. While traveling I-78 West, I was approaching a large fuel station just off the interstate. The price updated (increased) another $0.10 AS I DROVE BY! WTF?

I'd like to see if they can change the price WHILE someone is fueling. That'll be next!

They need to update the sign once more and should have it covered.

The station that I frequent recently upped the CC shut off to $125.00. That makes it a little more convenient.

My F250 needed filled. The pumps were raised from $100. To $125. before shutting down. I always fill until the pump nozzle shuts it down. So I then renter my card and top off. Last week I ended up putting in an extra 1/4 gallon.

That’s the excuse I hear, But instead of drilling on our federal land we beg other countries to increase production…burn millions of gallons in transport, potential for more Exxon Valdez situations not to mention the lack of regulation and responsibility other countries take in oil production.

If the price of fuel stays high long enough folks will break down and electric powered vehicles, mowers, blowers, tractors....everything will be the cure. And folks will be glad to have it, and the government will be happy and in control!

We will have forgotten the price of materials to make the electric society function, including disposing of all the things that will wear out.

Anyone know the wholesale vs. retail markup (excluding federal & state tax) in fuel sold at stations?

My understanding is that it is low, $0.03-0.20 per gallon but, I’ve never been able to confirm.
That said, I don’t believe there is a limit on margins for the price of a gallon since you see fuel stations in Malibu and Beverly Hills charge up to $2.00 more per gallon than stations only a couple miles away.

Basically, I’m wondering what the average margin per gallon of fuel is.

stations used to make less than 5 cents per gallon, decades ago, have no idea how slim they are now.

I know that while I could afford to buy a new battery for the Lightning ,every 6 years, there's NO way I'm going to buy one

in my local area in Maine gas prices everywhere just DROPPED. What was $4.39 gallon wednesday is now $4:09 4 days later.I saw a few other stores with similar drops.

No, but they can stop issuing permits. Or hold "issued" permits for environmental studies etc.

2020 campaign - “ no more drilling off shore, no more drilling on federal land, no more drilling period”. Those were his word verbatim and he has done everything in his power (legal or not) to make it happen. That is why the prices started going up on day one, not 3 weeks ago as they would like us to think.
