found a kubota 245 Dt

Would the 245 dt and the 225dt be compairable front drive could i swap them

Two quite different tractors from the 1970's. Front wheel drive was an after-thought on the L225. The differential was off-center, with a driveshaft coming from a side gearbox on the transmission. The axles had u-joints.

The L245DT got a completely redesigned system - with centered differential and driveshaft. The kingpin drive feature was added (giving better ground clearance and tighter turns) .

For a time around 1976 both models were produced - but the L245DT general design idea became the standard.

Thanks i guess that will not be any good to me grasping at straws here but it looks like it will become a 2 wheel drive tractor

Your other post indicated you needed a "crown wheel and pinion".

Messicks shows L225DT bevel gear assembly available for $699.
Serial number break on the L245DT but both are available - one is $833 and the other $612

Back in 2015 I worked on a L225DT front drive - it had a chewed gear and bearing in the side gearbox link here. I got a lot of good help on this forum and even found some good used parts. Maybe what you need is out there somewhere - good luck - Dick B

Called messicks this morning yes its on website but it is not available has been out of production for a little time now no stock left in north America Mike

Oh, too bad. It was worth a shot. Lance is a good guy. Helped a bunch of OTT guys when he can.

I agree completely! I've met Lance on a few occasions. Even bought a loader for a L245DT from him. A great guy!
