I used my Sony DSLR 77 with a Tamron 150-600 zoom lens on a window ball mount.
Thanks for question and feedback on the dragon fly. I used to try and id dragonflies but found it took more time than I was willing to spend, lol.
That's a really good pic for that big zoom lens, must have had it in its sweet spot. I used to really enjoy photography but I've gotten out of it for the most part. I still have my DSLR Nikon D300, just haven't had it out for a couple years!

Had a rare opportunity to go fishing this morning bright and early. Those that know me, you know where I am at--and you might recognize this. It was about 82 degrees at the top of the ramp. When I got into the boat, I was very close to shivering; about 50 degrees. Stopped to get a quick vid of how it is on the river here in the hot humid summer. There is no better therapy that I know of, but to get out there and just sit in the boat, listening, watching the wildlife. Very tranquil. No sound in this vid but there were two eagles, one on one side of me and the other on the other side-chattering back and forth. For those that don't know, bald eagles kinda sound like sparrows. I always took it as "Speak softly and carry a big stick". Owls galore. Later on as the fog was "lifting", seen a couple of deer eating in the weeds. The bigger one was on her hind legs eating some leafs off of the tree limb above her. By time I got the phone out of my pocket, they were gone.

This pic was taken in 2006 of my grandmother. She was 99 at that time and left us just before her 101'st birthday. Today, Jul 1 is her birthday...miss her dearly.

Happy Birthday Mutti

I did not take this photo but found it on my Snapshot Wisconsin game camera. snapshot <- This link will take you to the website for the program. I think its worth reading about. They do good things with the data that is collected. Anyways, I host one of the more than 2000 cameras already deployed in the state.
I thought it was a neat capture, this springs fawn in mid-leap.

On my back from my land yesterday came across this Barred owl perched on a transformer.

Phone or camera?
I keep a Sony 57 and a Sony 77 in my Jeep most of the time.
The Barred owl picture was taken with the 57. I also normally have a iPad Pro with me , I use it at my land for downloading trail cam pictures instead of swapping cards. As good as phone and tablet cameras are , IMHO, they just do not gather enough light for good wildlife shots.

I shot these pictures in my backyard prairie planting. Besides my 56 acres that is going thru a habitat Oak savanna restoration, a year and half ago I ripped out perfectly good lawn at my house (about a 1/4 acre) and planted natives.

I am curious to know if others have decided to cut less lawn, which is basically a wildlife desert, and plant native grasses and forbs. Full disclosure, my kids and friends think I am more than half a bubble off! LOL.

One of the benefits of planting natives at my house here is that I can sit on my deck and enjoy sites like this Eastern Tiger Swallowtail feeding on Wild Bergamot.
