Bring it on...We have had the best snow winter in years.
No January thaw, Day time temps teens to twenties, 2 feet of dry powder on the ground, NO ICE!
For us XC skiers, it is heaven:)

The Weather Liar is forecasting that this cold could break the record lows.

And staked half of it on the porch and the other half in the woodshed. I am ready. ;)

We are forecast to be at 10 degrees Tuesday morning which is Glaciated Weather for us. It will cause much misery because quite frankly, we ain't prepared for it. There will be frozen and broken water pipes everywhere.
I put insulated frost covers over my outside spigots on the sides of the house. On a slab, so not too much issue with frozen pipes.

Will have to leave the master bathroom faucet running though. In the home builders infinite wisdom they mounted the drain for the sink in an outside wall.

Supposed to be 3 degrees here tomorrow morning.

All of Canada was below freezing today. That doesn’t happen often. The west cost is usually warm.

Around here it's so WET that I have almost nowhere to park a car or even move around without sinking into mud. My road is getting almost impassable. Really tired of rain.

In upstate NY, it can go from -10F in the winter to 95F in the summer. Best rule of thumb is to always be prepared.

I live in Texas near GeoHorn, we have a few days of below freezing weather which is very unusual for us. Went to the grocery store this morning and obviously people think that they need 4 weeks of food to survive the next few days. It was as bad as when the Covid19 lockdowns started... but the roads are fairly clear so that isn’t an issue.

Worst thing is that there was freezing rain and it hasn’t thawed yet so many of the trees are losing limbs that are cracking off due to the weight on the leaves and branches

Hey, Russell..!!.... we’re supposed to have 5-degrees Sunday/Monday! It’s been 20-degrees for the last 3 days and My outside faucets are already frozen solid. I’m hoarding gasoline for the generator... we had short term power failures out here on the west-end of the lake twice yesterday.

That’s one of my plum trees I covered up in an effort to save it because last week it was in Full-Bloom.... covered completely in white flowers and buzzing with honeybees. I’ve got a small electric heater beneath that cover.

We didn’t try to save any plants....too cold too long.

Good luck, I hope it works out and you can save it.

I have a ton of cedars that have limbs splitting and I will probably start cutting them off tomorrow if I can tolerate the temperature.

Must be all the global warming and climate change making the winters so warm. I haven't been outside since Thursday. Between the rain and cold weather, my shoulders feel like someone beat me with a bat. I had back-to-back rotator cuffs done last year, and I still ache pretty bad when I get cold or when bad weather's coming in. Got a few new trinkets to play with when it warms back up again, and should be getting my new Piranha bar soon, too. I just wish it would dry up enough that I don't destroy the lawn when I move the LX. We must have had at least 20 inches of rain already this year.

It's a whopping 14 degrees here. Had to laugh at the weather alerts that have been popping up on my phone.

"Major snow storm projected!!!" Reading down the page it states "5 inches of snow expected".

I guess me and the weather app have different definitions of what a "Major snow storm" is. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Growing up in Vermont, busses still ran in upwards to 8" of snow. And a major snow storm was a "Nor-Easter" which would bring around 3' or more of snow.

Granted, if we got 3' of snow in Arkansas, it would be the proverbial end of days.

So we have 5" of snow coming tonight through tomorrow. Then they are calling for more Wednesday into Thursday. Friday it will be back above freezing.

We have rain/sleet mix and 28 degrees. I just put another stick of wood in the fireplace insert and made another cup of coffee.

Our Church Services will be live on Facebook today.

It's mid February in Alabama, and I still have to wear a heavy coat and the ground crunches under my feet this morning. Something's wrong. The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!!! Then again, I've seen 18 inches of snow in mid March here. The Blizzard of '91. This state was shut down for nearly a week waiting for things to thaw out. We've heard legends about snowblowers and salt spreaders. They're considered unicorns in this part of the world.

I just read that the gov. declared an emergency - some big storm heading in next few days?

2 inches projected and the entire state of NC shuts down.

Same here in Arkansas. But then 2" of snow usually starts out as rain, freezing rain, then sleet, and finally the 2"of snow.

So you end up with around 6" of slush on the roads that freezes solid at night.

Been 11 years when we went on a cruise, our very first vacation out of canada. I had no idea what i was missing. This cold snap in the -30’s can f right off any time now.
is like a rough airplane ride, and no idea when its going to land and i really need a smoke. To the point jumping off the plane would be better at this moment. Yup i hate winter that much.
