First post, figured I’d make it an opinion one

Purchased a new BX23S last spring and love it. Moved over 50 tons of dirt and gravel, plus rocks, boulders, dug trenches, ripped up a food plot etc. I ordered it with a tiller, box blade, and the thumb for the backhoe (that should just be standard equipment!). Picked up a used rear mower, and am now deciding what to get next.

For snow removal I tried to order a quick connect front blower (50”) however I will be lucky enough if it shows up in March. I Am Having the dealer instal the third function and plumbing it to the 3 pt at well, as I plan on eventually getting a hydraulic top link, and a grapple.

Long winded intro so here’s my question...do I spend the $5500 plus tax and not get to use the front blower this winter... or do I buy a used (or even new) 3 point blower, and buy a grapple now?

follow on question... why is it so hard to find kubota implement prices without talking to a salesman?.?

Check out ”Everything Attachments”. My grapple is on order and will not get here till March. Of course in Mich a snow blower is usually more important this time of year. However I have not had a good chance to breakin my new in Nov BX23 in the snow this year. Disappointed in that too but hasn’t been too cold.

I quickly decided against a front mount, PTO drivern snowblower($6K) last year, and a rear was not an option(3K). Instead made my own SSQA selfpowered snowblower, got maybe $500 into it. A 14HP engine driving 2 ,24" blowers,Naturally haven't needed it in 2 years.....
I went SSQA for the FAST and EASY changing of implements. There's no way I could mount/dismount loader for blower, blower for loader every week or two.....

Still waiting on a quote from 2 dealers. Likely going to go with the 3pt blower and maybe grab a quick hitch so I can swap between it and my box blade depending on the amount of snow.

Those look like great prices to me, especially being Canadian. 3rd function valves here are about $850 US. My front mount blower was mid 3k as well.

i can’t be the only one who when they want to buy something for their machine, they wait like it’s Christmas time eh?I will check it out. Thanks!

hopped on their site. After the deliver fees and additional drop fees to a terminal and the exchange rate it’s almost $1000 more that buying the one at kubota. We need more manufacturing in Canada.

Make sure you check the weight. This only weighs in at 240# where as some I see including home made weigh in at 400#.

The one from kubota is I think around 180lbs for the 54” and 150 for the 48”.

Loaded up. Dropping it off at the dealer after work. First time it’s been on that trailer. Just bought it a week and a half ago.

anyone know why they don’t build tie downs into these small tractors? My hook straps aren’t a big deal on the frame members but it’s corner to corner and not cross tied like it should be.

Don't know, probably due to the added cost...for something most owners probably do not need.

I see you are in Canada. In my state as far as I know the loader bucket (and backhoe bucket if there) must also be tied down to the trailer. Maybe someone can correct me if this is only for larger machines...Pennsylvania here.

i didn’t put the loader strap on yet. I had a few frozen ones from being in the back of the truck. they are in the basement drying out. We have to tie them down as well.

AGREED !!! Though if we did that, we'd lose all teh export sales of raw materials.........

I made front tie downs, mount in two holes on the frame. Used once..then sold trailer...oopsy... Maybe Princess Auto has some 'D-tiedowns' that'll bolt on ?

I have the BX2816 50" Front mount blower with K-connect system for my BX23S. It's really slick, attaches and detaches very quickly.

I'll be looking at light grapples in the Spring.
Golf cart top.
3 pt chipper shredder

Crash, you need LED's on that ROPS!

I agree that tractors that require binding to be transported should have provisions for that. It would be safer and cleaner than the average Joe's "guess" on where it would be best.

In the US equipment (over 10,000lb.) requires 4 binders. With "attachments" the "attachment" also needs to be strapped (how many depends on the weight and length of the attachment). After that every 10' in length add an additional binder. A purpose built loader bucket is not considered an "attachment" however a removable loader (like a lot of tractors have) would be.

Under 10,000lb, two binders. They do not go into "attachments" and securing attachments that I could ever find or get definitive answers on under 10,000lb. In that case they could default down to cargo rules.

I really hate guessing about this stuff and have spent a bunch of time looking it up and talking to a couple troopers as well as state DOT guys. None of them could state things definitively.

You want to see a real head scratcher? Ask a cop what age a kid can ride on the back of a motorcycle.

Well, at least you're in good company. They don't offer them on the larger L series or the MX either. My first project on the new MX5400 I picked up last week will be adding tie down points.

as soon as the hardware stores are open to actually go in, I will be picking up some U bolts and brackets to install my lights. I have them already. Just can’t get the hardware I need easily.
