They've come a long way in sled design since the last time I was on one. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Last one i was on was a late 70's Skidoo. It resembled more of a block with skis 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂
LOL - we used to spend as much time pushing and pulling them then we did riding.

They have come a long way. 200HP 100+MPH Drops and jumps that would destroy an older sled are done all day now.

On Rt3 in Franconia Notch, you can see the tramway going up Cannon Mt in the background.

I passed this plot of woods the other day on the way to Lowe's after and ice storm and some snow that left us without power for a day and a half. The longest I've been without power in the 46 years I've lived here.

In 2003 I rode west to Glacier National Park. By the time I got there the park was closed due to a forest fire. The next year I tried again. While hiking alone thru some of the burned out forest I came upon this sign. It was enough to make me turn back. I had seen grizzlies at a distance and that's the way I wanted to keep it. I had stopped at a sporting goods store in South Dakota to see what they had in bear repellent. The salesman tried to sell me a spray. He claimed it was good up to 20'. Ah, no! The thought of being within 20' of a grizzly told me I didn't need the spray.

This is one unit of my oak savanna restoration project covered in what I think is hoar frost or possibly rim ice. On the far hill top barely visible is my box blind.

These new sleds just don't get me going. They are FAST though. I bought a 2004 Yamaha Warrior last Feb, rode it 2 days on a trip the North woods Wi. Sold it soon as I got home. Too much sled for an old man, I ended up buying a 2001 Yamaha SX700R, much more to my liking.

And you are actually talking about last generation sleds. Today you can buy at the dealer a 200+ HP machine.

Hard to beat the new suspensions.

That is a nice machine you have. The SRX700 arguably the best 3cyl 2 stroke ever made. Just an awesome motor.

I like to go to the local fairs. Almost any kind of fair is fun but the farm fairs I find most interesting. This shot was from a 'sheep expo' in CT. One woman was selling homespun.

That's a SXR700. Wouldn't want a 200 HP machine, certainly can't use it on the trails I've rode in the North Woods. I had a 145 HP machine earlier last year. Had a 136 in track with 1 1/4 lugs. That thing was a handful. I'm 70 years old and had a terrible time controlling that big machine. My hands and wrists was killing me by the end of the day. My buddy is 75 and we have both lost our wives, so we decided to do the snowmobile thing again. We both sold our sleds about 20 years ago, and I thought why not do it again before we go. So we are.

On one of my mc rides I stopped at Old Fort William in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A lot of recreation photo ops.

They're on the small side, but someone could make some syrup from those....would look cool with some old style sap buckets hanging from them.
lol, It's pretty hard around here to find pails anymore. They are all 'piped' with plastic tubing to a central collection point.
I have a really large oak that died along with three others nearby. They are all in the woods and 80+ ft tall. I don't have a chainsaw big enough to even cut this one done. Because it will hit the house if it falls the wrong way I called an arborist to just drop it in the other direction into the woods. He was concerned because it would hit and probably take out a good sized maple.
I told him to look around. There are plenty of them in the woods. I think he took it personally.
