I checked an recheck the manual before changing the oil in my MX5800 for the first oil change at 50 hours. I checked the oil prior to the change and it was at the top level. After draining and adding 9.5 quarts I poured the old oil back in the containers and realized I had a little less than 2 gallons. The oil was an inch and a half above the top line. I tried 2 hours to get a hose into the oil pan but nothing worked. Finally I removed the plug and drained out 1 3/4 quarts. The oil was 1/4 above full. I stated and it was 1/8 inch above full after filling the filter. I removed and emptied the filter. I started the tractor again and the oil is 1/16 of an inch below the mark. I fear it will be high when the oil drains down. If it above the high mark do I need to take out more oil?
I found two more users on the web with the same problem. I use the hate greasing equipment more the oil changes but after todays experience with incorrect manual, a grease job would be easier.
