I've got a stock L3200HST with a LA524 loader and QC 66" bucket. I need to be able to lift a pallet of shavings for my horses that ways about 1500lbs to and from the bed in my F250. I've tried to research this but I wind up more confused every post I read. Titans seem to have a bad reputation but it does not appear as though Land Pride sells these.

Any suggestions for the new kid to pallets?

Thanks!

From tractordata you may have difficulties allowing for the weight of QH, bucket and forks, or QH and QH forks?
Lift to full height (at pin):1,131 lbs [513 kg]
Lift to full height (at 500mm):855 lbs [387 kg]
Lift to 1.5m (at pin):1,490 lbs [675 kg]
Lift to 1.5m (at 500mm):1,182 lbs [536 kg]

The quick answer is you do not have enough lift capacity to lift 1500 lbs.

Roughly speaking - If the center of your load was hanging directly under the lip of the bucket, your lifting capacity is only 1,182 pounds up to 5 ft in height (it gets worse as you get higher). Now if you put the center of the load out in front of the lip of you bucket, the load lifting capacity goes down significantly. For example, moving the center of load to the lip of the bucket from the pivot pin behind the bucket (about 20"), then the lift capacity drops by 400 pounds. If you put forks on the bucket... now the center of the load could be out another 24" from the bucket lip. The forks would put you well under 1000 pounds (maybe as low as 500-600 pounds). There just is no way you are going to lift 1500 pounds with bucket forks or standard forks.

If you have a SSQA bucket, you could get a standard set of SSQA forks to get the load closer to the pivot pin. Then break down your load into thirds, and then you may have a chance.

Edit: Looks like 100 td beat me to it.

I have the L3200DT and the SSQA forks. I can tell you from experience that you have NO hope of lifting 1,500 lbs.

To lift concrete stairs of 1,100 lbs, I had to cheat a little to get them off my trailer and into position. It would not lift them up far enough to clear the trailer, so I kept my 600 lbs. Rotary Cutter loose on the ground while using the loader to lift the back wheels off the ground about 6". Then I raised the cutter off the ground to put the wheels back on the ground, thus raising the stairs off the trailer.

the forks wont be a problem...

you dont have a big enough tractor to lift that much weight.

you'll need counter weight & more lifting capacity for that.

Wow...thanks for the quick replies and the info. Much appreciated although I really didn't want to hear I didn't have enough tractor!

So I still want to get a set of forks to move as much as I can given the limits of my L3200. I'll have to lighten the loads I carry from the 1500 lb. I wanted to lift and haul but that's life. I didn't want forks for the bucket but a separate QA set of forks so I could take my bucket off and put the forks on to lift as much as I could with my tractor. Any suggestions on what to get? Brand/Model/Price?

As you can see from my equipment, I have the LP 42" forks. They are very well built and easy to use. The reason for LP forks is it was part of the package I financed.

I also have the extenders to get to 60" for lighter loads.

So here's where I am and am interested in the input of the smart folks on the board that have taught me a lot. All the forks are 42" which seems like a sweet spot from what I can tell.

Land Pride PFL2042 - $825 too much, 330#

Blue Diamond - $785 too much

Everything Attachments - $647, will lift 2200#, weigh only 238#, forks are 3"x1 1/8", back ordered: 4-8 weeks
https://www.everythingattachments.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ETA%2DSCPF%2D42

Construction Attachments - $739, will lift 1800#, weigh only 220#, forks are 3"x1", back ordered: 2-4 weeks
https://www.everythingattachments.com/42-Inch-Compact-Tractor-Pallet-Forks-p/cal-1pfcmp42.htm#thereviews

Titan - $535, will lift 4000#, weigh 320#, forks are 4"x1 1/4", can put hay spear on
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Titan-42-Pallet-Fork-Attachment-Tractor-Kubota-Holland-Skid-Steer-Quick-tach/361498960859?epid=1900559164&hash=item542b0463db:g:e~0AAOSwz~paCyZI#rwid

Titan - $450, will lift 3000#, weighs 295#, Comes with receiver hitch for moving trailers https://www.palletforks.com/titan-skid-steer-42-pallet-fork-trailer-hitch-attachment.html

MTL Attachments - $449 (would go and pick up), will lift 2500#, weighs 250#
https://www.ebay.com/itm/162923588209?ViewItem=&item=162923588209

Of course its a balancing act of price and load capacity as I'd like to lift as much as I could. Its hard to tell about the quality of the welds, etc. from looking at a picture on the internet. All of these should outlift what I can with my L3200 based on the great info you guys provided me before so I'm thinking lighter forks might be the best. Everything Attachments looks like a possibility but has a 4-8 week wait, although I'm not in a great hurry. The MTL looks kind of bare bones from the picture to me. Having said that, one of the Titans looks like a possibility. We use square bales for the horses so the hay spear is not a big attraction but the receiver hitch would be a nice extra. Of course that one doesn't have a top "cage" to keep stuff from sliding backwards.

Anyway...suggestions and observations are welcome! I'll let you know what I decide and what the results are after I get them and get a chance to use them.

I have the Titan set you list above ...the "42" Pallet Fork & Trailer Hitch Titan Skid Steer Attachment. That's the $450 option you list.

As i posted a while back after I got them, I indicated that the welds on the SSQA frame looked like they were done by a child (and probably were). However, my loader will never lift anything close to the capacity so no worries from me. I have no complaints about the forks, they appear to be quite heavy duty (and they are in fact heavy). I got these specifically since they had the 2" receiver built in..as I move different trailers around frequently. I have loaded the forks with logs to the max my tractor would lift without issue.

If you aren't concerned with how the welds look and don't rely on forks for daily use (as in actual forklift) I would not hesitate to recommend these especially for the price...I know, made in china and all...

You can remove one fork and use it as a bail spear too :D

I just got the titan par you listed for 535. Did the best offer on eBay, and also the 20% off. Came to 430ish to my door. The QC is not the best, but all I need for my little BX. I would watch eBay for other discount code, they have had a few lately.

why didnt you guys just get your Titan stuff direct from Titan?

you get free shipping that way.. & they are usually cheaper.

as stated above by another Member: your tractor will never lift anything close to what these are good for.

Titan sells on eBay also with free shipping. Prices are the same and you can make offers (some items). I also used 20% off eBay coupon so I save 100 bucks.

Something to consider, A standard pallet is 48 inches deep. 42 inch forks do not reach the last slat on the pallet. I like the extra reach for moving logs and such. Also would recommend a full height back plate to protect your shiny orange hood from possible shifting loads.(been their done that). My kubota dealer charged me 800 for lp-pfl2048 forks on my recent purchase of a b2650c.Small dealer but keeps that size forks in stock. Just my two cents. Wt 345#

I have never had any problems lifting 48" pallets with my 42" forks even when loaded with 1100 lbs.

Yes, I really like the full back plate and it has come in handy more than once.

I went through the same decision. This is the one I picked mainly because of the weight and includes a trailer hitch. Also, the color is the same gray at the gray on the tractor.

http://www.artillian.com/SSQA_PalletForkSets.htm
4" wide - 42" long 2500 lift - weight at 252.

Lifted the snowmobile as far up as I needed, but without the backhoe attached it would be difficult to maneuver. Sled weighs 550lbs. No hope of 1500lbs.

I got the 'cheap' forks from titan for the QA - $299, 275 on sale.
Got them yesterday - no quality issues, fit my kioti QA no problem.

Moved a pile of lumber that was on the ground..meaning I left some ruts to get under it. No issue.

Moved a monster tree trunk - 24" base and 20' long so that I could get round it to cut it with the chain saw - moved it and another 12' piece I'd cut earlier - easy peasy no issues.

Today will be collecting pallets to put everything on (have piles of fence poses, box blade, drag, etc - hard to mow around so this is my fix.

Horse feed on pallets may be next...

My loader is rated at 1800lbs and the 'cheap' forks 2600lb I think - so no issues. Much cheaper than the 'better' ones, bt not adjustable left/right - reviews say it's rarely an issue.

Also will be moving round bales come winter.

It has a chain slot on it - so will be pulling posts with it rather than 3 point hitch. The forks can come off...so I have other ideas for the mount assemble as well.
