Well the day finally arrived. My new M7060 was delivered this morning. It has the LA1154 loader, standard bucket, 3rd function valve and canopy. All I can say about it is, wow! Compared to the Ford 4630 that I traded in it's like a Cadillac.

I removed the bucket and hooked up the 6' Bush Hog for a quick few laps to see how it rode when mowing in the pasture... sweet. The adjustable suspension seat with arm rests and reclining back sure made for a lot nicer ride. Shifting the synchronized 4 speed on the move without the gears grinding and shuttling between F and R was also great.

One thing I don't like is the little pins that lock in the telescoping sway bars. You can't see the little holes in the pins to stick the little hairpins through. They also don't have a little keeper chain on the pins so they don't get lost.
Another hiccup was that the shop installed a fiberglass canopy instead of an aluminum one. Shouldn't be a problem with them swapping it out.

I didn't have but a little while to mess with it this morning but my first impressions were very good.

Congratulations on your new tractor, it's a real improvement over the M7040.

SWEEEEET!!

Just a few days ago I was looking at M5660 and M6060 specs for my own curiosity. Thought M6060 way to go, just for the weight.

This M7060 looks like 5x5's won't even phase it, and at the same price as the M6060!

Looks great....great dealer.......Enjoy!

Thanks a lot guys.

I left work a little early today because I have to make a trip to the airport to pick up the wife, daughter and grandkids but I did leave early enough to bush hog about an hour. Nothing terrible just waist high grass around the inside perimeter of the pasture so the guy making my hay will be able to avoid any obstacles when he cuts it.

I run the rpms right around 1900 just to take it easy. It chewed through the thick waist high grass just like it wasn't there without any strain at all. Everything else worked great and Wolfman you were right, it was a very comfortable ride.

I'm anxious to see how it works out moving round bales next week.

There should be short chains on the pins for your sway bars. I'd ask the dealer, or get a foot of a light chain for each side at the hardware store. Once you get use to the pins you'll be spoiled and wonder how you got along with turnbuckles!

I’ll have to see if there’s a place to attach keeper chains. The telescoping sway bars will be nice I know but it’s those little hairpins that is aggravating. I’ll come up with something else before I do that every time.

I’ve got a M9540 and had a M7040. Both had the the telescopic stabilizers. No chains and never put the hair pin through the hole. Haven’t lost one yet. I don’t think it’s an issue unless you lay one down and lose it. Have several friends with the same setup and they have never had issues or lost a pin. When hooking up I just put the pin through the hole closest to the lift arm and then move it to the hole it needs to be in after the implement is attached.

Thanks Russell good to know and I won’t be fiddling with those pins anymore. If I happen to loose one I’ll just stick a bolt in the hole

Look at a quick hitch, with that you'll never need to mess with the pins! :D

Nice tractor, Houser. I like the M7060.

That said, I've been a Ford/Hew Holland/CNH man for nearly 50 years, and the 4630 is a great tractor, if much less modern than your M7060.

If FWA (maybe without), a decent 4630 will drag your M7060 into the next county.

I made the changeover from Ford/CNH several years ago and am slowly selling off my Fords and replacing them with Kubotas.

My new B3350 was delivered about three weeks ago. The VERY good 51 Ford 8N with Sherman combination transmission that it replaced is currently on the block and three potential buyers are coming to see it tomorrow.

Priorities change.

Are you saying a Ford 4630 will drag his M7060 into the next county? Or your fingers not typing what you're thinking?

I don't know about that but if I do happen to be traveling in reverse I will be
a lot more comfortable and with more room. :) Also got my 8N and Ford 2000 running this weekend and they'll be up for sale soon.

Nice machine, Ive been looking at a M7060 also but curious how the DPF system is holding up on this machine? Many issues out there with that?
