Gotta agree with CCR, rental cars are hitting the auctions. I picked up a 1 year old 24K mile car for half price of new. Nice to get rid of the wife's car payment and get into this cheap.
Rental cars are ALWAYS hitting the auctions. Enterprise alone has a fleet of 1 million+ vehicles. They run them to anywhere from 10-mid 30k mileage generally. After that they do their best to sell some retail, they'll wholesale quite a large portion, and some will end up at auction. In my line of work (I'm a market manager for the largest floorplan company) I'm constantly at auctions, and believe it or not consignments have been down. The market is not flooded, at least in upstate NY *YET. We are expecting a downturn, with consumer demand seemingly light but only time will tell for sure.
