BTW: if you are researching new tires, you might want to review this recent thread for a possible alternative:

Yeah, I was looking at those kenda tires but they ended up being my 2nd choice. If I was further south then sure no problem. I really need something with more bite for all the snow we get as we can get easily 6" - 12" overnight. After seeing your pictures my mind was changed and I ordered 2 of those Carlisle All Trail II tires last night. Thanks for your pictures and input.

The temperature is up to 7°C (~44°F) and it poured rain all night. My driveway is gooey in the flatter sections and slicker than moose snot on the hill. I had no problem driving end to end in 4wd, although it did want to spin the rears on the hill in 2wd. I even used the FEL to skim off the soft stuff without too much trouble, although it will start spinning wheels once the bucket is full.

Now, it's been a year since I did this with the old trailer tires; and I have had a year's practice with the FEL; and it's a completely subjective judgement by a cheap son-of-a-pup who had to pry the cash out of his Dutch wallet. So my perspective may be coloured by a need to think I didn't waste my money, but I believe I have better traction with these tires than I had when I last dealt with similar conditions. I never got stuck, never had to pry myself out with the bucket curl.

We'll see how they do tomorrow, when this slop all re-freezes...

My lawn was bare by the time the rain stopped, and the temps dropped,so fast I could feel it happening. Looks like less snow than forcast( maybe more rain?) I will wait for the plow to pass before I dig out, hope my blower is not frozen into the ground. Good luck on those hills

Thanks for the timely post. I am in need of some new fronts for my B5200. Question- you said that you bought 20x10x10 and the tire has a 7" width. Did you mean 20x8x10? I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a set myself. Thanks,

I still haven't been able to make it to a crappy tire or local shop to ask for a price. Work sucks...haha

I did email "casterland" as they had an online form and showed Carlisle in their product list.

I got this back , "Morning, I can pull that tire out of my WPG branch,

$144.32 each,

*Have a good weekend"

So at least that gives me a starting point. The kenda trailer tire is about half that price, but I'll see what the local shops can do before I do anything.

(I'm in canada so the cheap amazon.com option doesn't work for me without an extra step in shipping)
Cheers

Actually, I said the tread is 7". :)

If we zoom in on this:

We can see from the sidewall that I did indeed buy 20 x 10 x 10:

and from this you can see that the tread is indeed the same width as the original 8" wide trailer tires:

Well it froze but snowed. Then we had rain and warm weather again. Now it has refroze but no snow, so the hill is a sheet of ice that challenges the car with studded tires and the 4wd truck.

The tractor won't go up in 2wd. It goes slightly further with the diff lock engaged in 2wd. But it walks right on up in 4wd without the diff lock. So I'd say they do OK.

The tread is not as aggressive as the All Trail II, but the maximum load capacity is 200lbs more!

Unloaded OD is shown as 20.7" -- 0.4" larger than the ATII and 0.1" smaller than the Kenda trailer tire. That works out to an unloaded circumference of 65". Given this one has a 4 ply sidewall and the trailer tire has a 6 ply sidewall, my guess is that the sidewalls will squish enough for the rolling circumference to be closer to the optimal 61" than the trailer tire.

This could be a great alternative.

Baby got new shoes! I installed Kenda K513 20.5x8.00-10 on original Kubota 10x6 wheels. Kenda engineering sent me info that "ROLLING CIRCUMFERENCE=1590+/-31mm". So that's 62.6" +/- 1.22". As odd the +/- seems, the info was worth a chance at $120 a pair. Used them all weekend in 2 and 4WD, full loads of split wood and big logs in bucket...worked perfect. Grip was good for FEL work and grass not tore up from tight turns. So far, a worthy alternative to the Turf and Fields.

My B7300 has 21x8.00-10's on the front. I have read and read. Some state that the 20.5x8.00-10's will work and some state that the 205/65-10's have replaced the 20.5's. I like the looks of the Carlise tires Torch put on his because they would match the tread I have on the rear of mine. I guess I have a cross between turf and ag tires on the rear of mine now. The rear tires are probably about 60%. Can you guys give me piece of mind on what I can install? Thanks

From what I can tell, the OEM tire rolling circumference was 61". The allowable variance I've seen posted elsewhere was 2%, with a range of 59.75" to 62.25".

I measured the Carlisle All Trail 2 rolling circumference to be 60.25" @ 22psi, 50% filled with WW fluid, installed on my B7100, with FEL and counterweight. My rear tires are the OEM size, so the AT2 is suitable for my tractor.

You didn't mention brand or size, but it sounds like your tractor has aftermarket rear tires. I found a reference that the B7300 inter axle ratio is 1.475.

So what I would suggest is to measure the actual rolling circumference of your installed rear tires then divide by 1.475 to see which front tire has the closest rolling circumference to that value.

Measuring the rolling circumference is easy: mark the tire and ground where they touch. Roll the tractor forward until the tire mark touches again and make another mark on the ground. Measure between the two marks on the ground. (For greater accuracy, do several revolutions and divide the distance by the number of revolutions.)

TractorData.com shows that my factory tire is the 21x8.00-10 size that is on the front of mine. Here is what the rear tire looks like on mine. I have seen several Kubota's with this tire on them. Don't know if they were factory or not. 7300.jpg

So (according to tractordata.com) agricultural style tires were available, but on a 16" rim. Two different turf tire sizes are shown, both on 15" rims. Possibly one of those sizes was for 2wd models, because the RC does not matter unless the front wheels are powered.

You have 15" rims, so I would guess your tractor originally had turf tires on the rear. You have an ag style (albeit fairly shallow) tread on the rear. Therefore your tractor seems to have aftermarket rear tires that may or may not have the same RC as the OEM turf tires, so you need to check.

(BTW: The rear tires shown in this thread have a similarly shallow ag style tread as yours. That same thread introduces the Kenda K378 as another front tire option -- 62" RC, but with an ag style tread for the front)

Once you know your rear RC, here is the formula provided by Kubota for calculating the allowable range for the front RC. Basically the range of:

(rear RC / 1.475) x 1.03 < front RC > (rear RC / 1.475) x 1.07

The target is in the middle of the range (ie: x 1.05) So for example: if your rear RC is, say, 88", you should ideally fit fronts with an RC of about 62.5" but anything between 61.5" and 63.8" is acceptable.

BUT, if your rear RC was 85", then your acceptable front RC range becomes 59.3" to 61.7".

In the first example, the AT2 (60.25") would be undersized for your rears and you should use the Kenda K513 (62.6") or the Kenda K378 (62"). In the second example, you should use the AT2, although that K378 is darn close.

All that said, the RC is dependent upon tire pressure and load, so you can cheat by adjusting the tire pressure a bit if you have to. (That's probably why Kenda told K.P. the K513 spec is +/-1.22"). My measurement of the AT2 RC was taken with a FEL installed, but unloaded. It's probably a bit bigger when not supporting the weight of a FEL and a bit smaller when carrying a full bucket of dirt.

Finally: none of this matters when you are in 2wd. My personal belief is that any one of them will work if you only use 4wd as needed in loose material and always use 2wd on firm ground or pavement. But that's just my 2¢.

i finally replaced mine in 14, it happened just the way i***8217;d said it would in the earlier post on this thread.
went with a 20x10x10, the local farm supply had them, they were cheap enough @ $68 ea. that if they didn***8217;t work or caused issue it was gonna hurt to bad.
07F2C327-3CF1-478E-BC62-ED6989A55555.jpg

don***8217;t mind the fact my mess is split in half, replacing throw out bearing and inspecting other stuff.

as said previous, in 2wd there are no issues, in 4wd on the lawn i can feel it when turning, but not when straight, which is pretty typical of any 4wd. engage and disengage works smooth.

I have the same rears as mentioned, the Terra Grips (they need replaced as well, but that***8217;s a big nut....)

Just wanted to share what information I have been able to dig up over the last three days. Here are a couple options for those that are needing to replace your 20.5x8.00-10 or the 21x8.00-10 front tires. The 20.5x8.00-10 will have more options if you look up 205/65-10 tires. They are the same height but are just a hair over 8" wide. All of those tires will either be trailer or turf tires. I have found a tire that may replace my 21" tires. I have found a tire that resembles the Carlisle tire that Torch used. The tire is SunF G003 in a 21x7.00-10. Since I don't have a FEL, this may be the best tire for me. Just wanted to share.
