Much better than seeing 120v in the readout.

Daren - ran the 210MP on 240 today, and really like it!
I notice I need to back off the pre-set wire feed rate by 10 percent to get a decent bead.
Is that just a product of being a rookie?
Had the same thing on 110 too.

Every welder runs slightly different. I find when I use a different machine, I have to do a couple test runs to see what it does, and dial it in :D

Thanks - this machine has infinite adjustments, not tap settings, and yesterday the pre-set called for 330 ft/min. I backed it off to 300 ft or so, and was much better.

Guessing I just run slower...

Variations in wire type, even the copper coating will make a difference in performance. As well as shielding gas type and volume. Not to mention the steel you are attatching.

Have been arc/stick welding lately to sharpen my skill/non skill.
Was out of gas and decided to hold off filling for a month.
Have some body panels to fix, so back to mig.

Saw an ad for an multi-purpose machine by Esab. Anybody use Esab?was looking at a Rebel.

Fixed a spark arrestor this morning :D saved a couple hundred bucks in the process

I would like to get my hands on the bone head that came up with this design though. Would have been a two minute job if I could have just taken the clamps loose to remove it.

Took over an hour just to get the rusted bolts loose on the exhaust manifold

Actually it's a 300hp water pump :D:D will do somewhere between 3500 and 5000 gallons per minute depending on the conditions :D:D

Only thing is it's green powered  not kubota powered :(

Used to be around those when I dealt with water and sewer pipe jobs for dewatering trenches. Damn things are powerful!

I just retired my desk sized 225 AMP Mig dinosaur and got a MM211. It is the inverter type version. Still getting on to it but, I must say that I am really liking it so far. I kept a small 135 AMP Mig and the behemoth Miller stick machine. Should be quite well covered for our needs.

Did you get the spool gun for the 211? I hear it's very good for alu.

My Lincoln got a new ride.

Have looked at these HF cabinets for a while. Had them on sale this weekend.

So far, really like the cabinet. Weighs about 80 pounds, and seems pretty solid. Also holds my hood, gloves, and all the extra wire, etc.

RCW,

I have my Lincoln on one of those. Love it but I have the drawers already full. I ordered another one on sale for my plasma cutter but it arrived severely bent.

I figured with the cutter and the welder on carts, getting them to the welding/cutting location would be a lot easier. The welder rolls so nicely even with a small bottle on the cart.

I also like the HF magnetic torch holder. I use one for my torch and one for my welding visor.

Ray

Ray, are those white things laying on the top of the Lincoln, by the handle, welding gloves? You need to get them dirty, don't just save them for pictures!:D

Back when I was running my shop I used a syncrowave 250 tig and a millermatic 250 mig. Now for hobby welding and farm repairs a bobcat 250.

D2Cat,

That is what happens when you order stuff and it gets lost in your crap pile of a workshop and you forget you have them and you find another deal and buy more. LOL. I'll never wear them all out.

Its good I have some extra ones. My wife is interesting in welding.

She is really artsy and has a great eye to draw things. She wants to try welding up bent rod "creatures" and using the plasma cutter to cut up sheet metal to weld over as "skin." At least I have gloves and another visor for her now. She'll probably be better at it than me. (That won't be hard!)

BlueRam,

Awesome rig! What is the cool blue drum you made up? Gorgeous job.

:) Ray

I have been saving used horse shoes for 30 years thinking to make a sculpture out of them, but welding is not in my future. Anyone wants them can have them :)
