Living on the water it's not hard to see a significant change from let's say 10 or 15 years ago. We never had any trouble with erosion here until just the last couple years. Storms are more frequent and pack a lot more punch, winds just never seem to let up anymore. Is it from global warming, who knows but if I were a betting man I would have to go with it.

Well another flash blizzard/ snow storm hit us yesterday afternoon, I've got about 3" of snow in my yard.
The worst part wasn't the snow it was the fact it went from about 45 degrees to 25 degrees in about 10 minutes, and then 25 degrees to 7 degrees within about 5 hours, it fracking cold!!!!

Snow and ice storms here tend to follow a warm front. So it goes from sun bathing weather to snow in a couple hours with a 40 degree temperature drop that first hour.

You can keep it in Idawho. Well be here soon enough I suspect it's gonna be a long cold snowy winter and I also suspect I'll be spending quite a bit of time toasting my feet in front of the wood fire.

Windows for harming / harvesting around here are becoming shorter and shorter. Wonder if it has to do with the 'Solar Minimum'?

1-3 here tonight and the beans that aren't in will be done in and there is a lot Field corn might take a hit too. Buddy had 3 combines running today taking off beans and getting stuck in wet, muddy fields. Were supposed to be seed beans but you cannot take off seed beans unless the beans are at 12-15 and they aren't even close. Corn was coming off at 22, supposed to be 15, if you don't get stuck that is.

Just picked up 4000 pounds of 'no germ' seed corn in 50 pound bags and I have 2 tons of hardwood pellets for the bio mass stove for the coming cold winter days and nights.

Corn was a good price, free. Pellets were 214 a ton.

Leaves are mainly down, gardens put to bed. Time to start my fall swap over to winter. Will probably drop the loader, get the hitch installed and the blower sometime in coming weekend, winterize the fuel, etc. This year I may install some kind of trickle battery keeper just for piece of mind. No problems last year but it was a pretty tame winter overall. Wondering if the insane acornpiles on my driveway will get easily crushed up first storm or cause havos on the blower if they get sucked in. I have hundreds of pounds on my driveway...havent seen anything like it in years.

I was going to gloat about 80* and sunny. But I do miss the snow sometimes. And then I see 40 below and I do not miss it at all.
