Estill Springs TN,
Another weekend gone by but we got a lot done. We are about 95% done media blasting parts, all that we have left to media blast is the front axle, loader frame, wheels and the rear portion of the tractor.

While I was scraping endless layers of dirt off the loader frame I found a decal on the inside. I know now that I have a B-219 FEL serial # 6613 so I ordered a new breather cap.

I checked on a replacement engine but did not get a call back yet. I might have to source one elsewhere.

I bought 1 gallon of Kubota orange and 2 quarts of Kubota blue. I don't know when we will actually start painting parts but my dad wants to do it during the Christmas holidays and I will update again around that time.

Thanks, I hope it will run like new too when I'm done and with a new crate engine it should.

So, I've bought a D950 crate engine on eBay to replace the old D750. Sorry if I stole it from the last bidder but I just had to have it. I hope to have it here before everyone shuts down for the holidays as I'd really like to mate it to the trans tunnel so it can be painted with the rest of the chassis.

I'm going to need a good alternator and was thinking about using a Chevy 1 wire set up. I've done a similar conversion like this before with no issues but those alternators are kind of bulky.

I'll wait until the D950 gets here and go from there as I really don't want to cut up my side panel. I'm more motivated to get this project completed now.

I made the mistake on where to mount it I chose the side and Yes had to cut the panel, the original fits on the top of the motor.

your not going to be happy when the Kubota dealer gets back to you, there is a big change on how you order engines at Kubota mostly due to EPA regs, I was trying to order a motor of a U35 today and its a nightmare, the bad part if its older than tier 4 engines will no longer be made so unless they have one in inventory you cant get one

Estill Springs TN,
Well I received some of my restoration parts in the mail today. To be honest I got way more than I bargained for. I had expected a couple of manuals, 2 odd ball looking side lights, some sort of gauge holder and maybe 4 or 5 decals.

What I got was all of the above and 32 decals, I couldn't believe it. All decals are in single baggies and each one has a individual part number from Japan.

I still don't know what the orange fixture is for or where it would have went but I'm sure I'll find a place for it.

My replacement engine will be here Wednesday or Thursday of this week. I should get my but in gear and order a new clutch kit and a ton of fluids and filters or I'm going to get a little behind.

You talking about the orange fixture in the 4th picture next to the blinker lights?
If you are it's the tail light housing (red lens). ;)

Ahh, thanks Wolfman, I didn't get the red lense with it. I'm sure I'll find a good use for it, maybe not as a light though as I plan on installing LED lights. I've got a B7200 fuel tank on the way now, its got a sender unit for a fuel gauge and I'm hoping I can maybe modify a few things and fit it in my B7100.

I'd really like to have a fuel, temp, volt and oil psi gauge in addition with a tachometer further down the line during this project.

Grumpy,
Can you please verify where you ordered that package of stickers? I could really use a source for a package deal on those.

Thanks!

I did not order these decals, I won them on eBay from a seller down in Florida somewhere. They must have had a B7100HST that was being restored and for whatever reason wasn't completed. Project was not completed, parts were boxed and tractor sold and forgotten. Years later the box of parts are found and listed on eBay.

Moral of that story is to keep an eye on eBay as you never know what's going to come up.

Got an L305 steering wheel with center cap for $5 this month. If you want to find a bargain you have to always be trolling!

Thanks for the update on the source. I do use ebay regularly, just don't seem to hit jackpot there as often. Hopefully sometime soon I will come across something. Great find!

I found my D950 crate engine and the lot of decals/parts both on eBay. Don't give up, be patient and you will find them. I have some D750 engine parts that I can't use listed on eBay right now. Sure I could have tossed them in the scrap pile but thought somebody could probably use what I couldn't.

So keep searching the net and you could very well hit the jackpot a time or two.
