I see a few Kershaws in there which are my favorite EDC knives. The Blur is the one I typically carry off work and the Leek is usually the one I carry when I'm in the office.
^^^^^

I like the 'Blur' as well. It (blur) and a Kershaw Rex Applegate/Fairbairn are my two EDC.

The Blur being an assisted opening knife and Kershaw an Auto.

Most of my knives (wouldn't call them a collection) are hunting type blades, so not going to clutter the thread with those.

Beware the Indian with one arrow (or the Speed25 with one knife😁)
Old titanium 875 Sentinel Elishewitz, and I'm stupidly fast with this knife, so you are probably correct. After this many years, I'm more comfortable using this than I am my own left hand, and I'm pretty ambidextrous... :ROFLMAO:

Here is a rare one that I have had for 40 years. BenchMark Rolox. You slide the blade out the front with your thumb.

Used the machete this morning to whack up the pumpkins we had for decorations. I tossed them into the field assuming the critters would make them disappear. It was surprising to see that it was marked 24". Ecuador is metric (at least from what I've read). It was bought in Ecuador in 1983.

I'm mostly into Benchmade because I love the axis lock but still have Kershaws. I love being able to close/open the knife with one hand. Yeah, I know Benchmade was controversial for one thing they did. And... lots of companies are doing axis lock now due to the patent running out.

I'm trying to buy a particular Gerber with an offer. They want far too much for it ... and I'm thinking 5-6 times what it's worth. I only want it because it is a knife I missed from a few decades ago. My other knives are probably a lot better. :D. Still looking for a particular Buck Caper and Backlit. Sentimental value for those as well.

So many knives that I have come with a story. For example, in November of 2011 I shipped my car from Honolulu to Los Angeles and a week later got on a plane. I was heading to Arkansas to start a new job as an R&D engineer working for Remington Arms at the ammunition plant in Lonoke.

I did some sightseeing along the way and spent three nights at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, NM because I've always been fascinated by the "Wild West" and all of its legends. Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Bill Cody and others stayed at the St. James Hotel.

Every night I'd eat dinner at the bar, and every night a guy would come in for a beer or two, and every night he'd be carrying a box full of knives that he'd made. On my last night there I bought two knives from him. His name was Steven Rick and it turns out that he consulted on a number of movies and TV shows that featured blacksmithing. He would be bought in to make sure that the forge looked right and that the actors could pass for real blacksmiths.

Here are the knives.

Every Christmas the R&D engineers would be given a Remington bullet knife. I worked for Remington for two years before moving to Montana and these are the two knives I was given during my time there.

The D. Smith knives I showed earlier were made by a Montana knife maker. Here are some better images of the mammoth tusk handled model. An ex-girlfriend took the other knife.

Another knife with a story. A few years ago I was asked by the CEO of Bergara to evaluate a toggle bolt rifle that they had been working on in Spain for more than two years. After inspecting a sample I told him that it was basically garbage at which point he asked me what could be salvaged. I told him the stock and barrel but that was about it. I was then asked to design a new semi-auto rifle using the stock and barrel that could compete with a high end Ruger 10/22.

About six months later the BXR was complete and in time to be shown to a couple of large dealers at the SHOT Show. As a thank you, in addition to being paid to do the work, I was given a BXR with a special serial number of MCMXI-1 along with nine more sold to me at cost, also with special serial numbers of MCMXI-2 through MCMXI-10. One of the nine I gave to a good friend, and the other eight were sold (at cost) to coworkers which in hindsight was a stupid move. The knife shown below was also given to me by Bergara, but funnily enough, they misspelled my last name which is engraved on the spine of the blade. 😂

I have the Combat Folder version of your Applegate/Fairbairn knife. I bought it at McCulley Bike Shop in Honolulu around 1988. I added an edge to the opposite side of the end half of the blade to make it into a dagger.

Nice Christmas gifts!

Here is my well used with lots of patina UMC Remington bullet knife, 1123.
The 1123 is a large trapper with jigged bone handles. Circa late 1920's to 1930's. A large knife at 4 1/2 inch closed length.

Awesome collection there. Can you list the makes/models from top to bottom. I really like functional, practical knives. One of my favorite bush craft knives is this Fieldcraft.

I have been collecting knives for years, since I was a kid. I use to make knives but haven't in years because I sold most of my tools after my divorce several years ago, including all of my forging equipment. Previously, I had built my own 2x72 knife grinder and it worked well, really hated to lose it. Here recently I had decided to get back into making custom knifes and I received this new gem in the male yesterday. I was very excited to get this new grinder put together and running when I got home from work last night and the GF came out and seen me putting it together and I know she was thinking I better have one heck of a good Valentines gift in store for her. (If she only knew!)
I still need to build a forge and undecided of I will do a coal or propane forge. Probably will have to relearn everything all over again with as many years it's been...
