Which box scraper and rear blade ?

First off, if your tilt cylinder is allowing the hitch to sag to one side, sag at all really, then the piston seals need to be replaced. With the cylinder-s disconnected, the hydraulics should be rock solid and should not move at all.
As far as being a pain to hitch up when your hitch has sagged, why not adjust the side link to compensate for that sag?

3 pt hitch Top & tilt cylinders would compensate for most of those irregularities.

Well to be honest, whenever I have gone to hook it up I have gotten pretty wrapped around the axle (OE) and just gone to get the hi lift jacket and and get on with it….i never thought about adjusting the side link. I’ll give it a try next time now though.

I bought a Land Pride RB3796 when I bought the MX6000 open station a few years ago. Rather foolishly I sold it with the MX for what I had in it i.e. $1,750. They're now up around $2,500 so it was a mistake to sell it but I didn't think I'd use it much once I bought a box blade and land leveler from EA. I now realize that it could be useful in the winter months to push snow over the edge of the lower driveway because I can't always get close enough to the edge with the 96" snow blade to safely push the build up down the hill. It would be useful for some other projects too, but would mostly see winter use on the back of the M6060.

If I ever buy another rear blade it would most likely be the RBT3596 that @MtnViewRanch mentioned. It's only $4,775 at Heartland Kubota in Sheridan, WY. Option 2 would be to buy another RB3796 and add hydraulic cylinders and hoses which could be accomplished for a lot less than the $2,225 difference between it and the RBT3596.

Take a look at the Bison blades. They are a bit cheaper than Landpride and I think they’re more heavy duty. This is the one I have. I believe they have distributors in your area also.

Take a look at the Bison blades. They are a bit cheaper than Landpride and I think they’re more heavy duty. This is the one I have. I believe they have distributors in your area also.

I thought that you were running an 8' rear blade?

I wish that Bison had a cat 1-2 all hydraulic blade available. Back when the LP blades were around $3K and less, I used to recommend them all the time for the cat 1 machines 35-50HP

My mistake. Yes mine is 8’, but it’s the same blade I posted with a shorter moldboard. Yes it appears that the only hydraulic Bison blades are category 2. They sure are stout and well built.

Just checking, and yes Bison is a bit heavier duty than the Land Pride equivalents.

Another excuse to get a top and tilt kit. Along with the telescoping lift arms on our MX tractors, it makes for strain-less implement attachment.

Maybe. I’ve been watching the threads related to TNT. I’m interested, but I’d like to see / try in person before adding that expense. From videos seems to good to be true. I’d be disappointed if I spent that and it did not do what I wanted. Sooner or later I will see one.

It’s pretty simple. The cylinders replace the manual top and tilt links and manual twisting adjustments.

I would add that a LP or similar Quick Hitch makes attaching to compatible implements even easier ... along with top-n-tilt of course. You end up with all three connection points moving together. You can even leave the locks in the down position prior to backing up to the implement since the pins on the implement will push the locking cams down as the QH is raised.

I assume you have the LP category 2 QH. Have you also used it for any category 1 implements with the adaptor bushings?

I have a QH10 and QH15. Here are the specs of each. I've attached both to a variety of implements where some require bushings and some don't.

People talk about using the same hitch for both cat 1 and cat 2 implements. My belief is that they are actually talking about the pin-size bushings required for the actual quick hitches.


Otherwise, how would it even be possible to connect to both cat 1 and cat 2 implements that are not set up with the cat 1-2 double clevis connection points as pictured?
I mean, cat 1 is 28" wide and cat 2 is 34" wide.
That is 6" difference, how would anyone have fixed connection points to fit both sizes?

I only have two cat 1 implements, the remainder are cat2.

Trying to figure out what size box scraper and also rear blade to go with for my new GL 5460 ?
The dealer pretty much only sells Kubota or Land Pride implements. I’ll need to finance any that I end up getting , so prefer to have included on contract with the tractor and have a single payment.

Hey Little Timmy, have you picked up your tractor yet? I got a top and tilt hydraulic set up. With a land pride BB2572. I've done a little grading with it and it's worked out well. I don't have a quick disconnect yet, maybe next year. I did the 60 months with 20% for financing. Good luck and have fun.
