Where Have All The Good Times Gone?

I remember the days when I could carry my .22 or 20 gauge on the school bus from town 40 miles out to the hunting camp - with a note from my Mom...

I could buy traps from S.S. Kresge (K-Mart for you youngsters)...

I could stock up on ammo at the gas station...

I could buy dynamite at the hardware store (with a blasting permit from the sheriff) but firecrackers were illegal! We smuggled them in from Canada;)

Ahhh....Good Times:)
Good times for sure! We used to take our shotguns to school in our trucks so we could go straight to the duck blind after school. No problems whatsoever!
Miss those days

Well my friend from what I have read on the Canadian firearms laws most of mine fall in the you cant even own a picture of the thing. I can carry CCW, an AR is not on the permitted list nor is an AK, and the Segia 12 is way off limits, And hand gun can be owned but not carried soo whats the point. Though I think an SKS might be ok

I'm Canadian and I have a gaggle of guns.
In the US, the liberal media labels anything more than (2) as an "arsenal".

Wow and here I thought the libtards around here figured 1 is an arsenal and
way to many totally unneeded by anyone. You're a sicko if you hunt they
figure you can just go to the store like they do and buy it so no animal needs
to be killed. ( I'd LOL but it's true many are that dumb )

Tomcat,
be glad you're not in northern Michigan right now, the snow and wind's so
bad they've pulled the plows off the roads in several places in both the upper and lower as I write this at 8:30pm on 1-14-15. Several areas the wind chill is -30 to -40 too. I'm in the Cadillac area of northern Michigan and couldn't
imagine living in FL or anywhere else south of the state line. I'm heading to
Cancun the 16th and will welcome the warmth and sun but sure couldn't live in any climate like you can. The cab on my B3030 with heat changed my attitude about winter making it MUCH easier to tolerate cold. I just stay
inside and get fatter when it's to nasty outside LOL!

Speaking on kids and school problems, I have 3 boys all good with the middle one quite the academic who was unique. From about the 2nd grade he simply took care of his own problems with teachers setting them straight or he'd simply walk down to the principals office and take care of business there all on his own. Had his fill of a particular high school coach
combo teacher that was berating and demeaning to another student then
turned on my son. Andy being his own man simply stood up and said " you might get away with your crap with someone else but certainly not me I'm on my way to the office and see if we can settle it there or take it to the school board after I get done with the newspaper and local TV station". He
would tell what happened then demand to know what action would be taken and EXACTLY when. He went on to college pursuing a teaching degree with the dream that he could change the system and teach students how to think instead of what to think like he'd experienced. Things went fairly well until the middle of his 3rd year when he learned the
truth about the system entrenched in the union which really wasn't doing
anything to help the members except spend away the dues they paid and
moved on to business. At least in the non public employee world he could make his own path to follow and be rewarded for what he earned. The final straw was broke when directed by the professor to break up into groups
and the mostly woman group and Andy said "hey guys lets sit over at this table". The libtard feminazi gay prof went off on him like he'd just called them a bunch of wh...s. It was over and now several years later he's still
doing follow up letters to the college making sure that useless one hasn't
been allowed to come back to work.
;))

You have a very good understanding of Canadian gun laws. AR's are a restricted firearm which is the same as a handgun and can only be shot a a certified range.

Do you have a little tannerite to go with these? Cool reactive targets.

kurtee, last year at the sporting clay shoot the lodge puts on for charity I put a little baggie in a couple of birds, I thought it would be some what of a surprise to those guys that shoot 90+ out of 100 all day long. I guess the shot does not deliver enough shock to the tannerite to set it off,, Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained, its a fun shoot anyway

Anyone try and make your own Tannerite? Its mainly ammonium nitrate fertilizer and a couple other items. The farmers out there must have plenty of that for "experimentation." :)

Buddy of mine put two cans in his RR tie 3-sided shooting back stop and when it went off it damaged part of it. Surprised him.

A friend put two in an old console TV and stacked junk all over it. I hit the cans with a steel tip 7.62 and sent TV parts and bent cars seats flying in a cloud of dust. Its like fireworks for grown ups. :)

Few things more satisfying after a "BANG!" than a "BOOM!"

:D

I know a guy who had an old microwave oven go on the fritz. Took it out in the middle of a field. Run a bunch of extension cord to it. Put a butter tub full of gasoline in it, with a fork. Fork was submerged in the gas. Microwave was one of those turn knob styles to turn it on. They plugged it in and watched. Said after about five minutes there was one hell of an explosion. And a pretty decent crater out in the field. course once the sheriff got done writing tickets, and a mandatory court appearance, I really wouldn't recommend trying it at home
