Daren, the only thing I can figure is, there is a shortage because someone else got them before me!!

Maybe it's like a few years ago when Dave Letterman said there was a toilet paper shortage, and sure enough if a few days there was one.

Really, probably manufactures trying in make more money for stockholders.

Wally world rations them and your limited to one box of each. Have to catch them early when they are stocking shelves and pounce on them. Took me two months to get my hands on some for the pistol my wife bought me. Dicks sporting goods hasn't had any in a couple of years. Every time you ask them they aren't sure when they are gonna get some more. Gonna have to start ordering direct I guess

.22s have been in fair supply around here for a bit but you have to be there when they stock the shelves. There were guys that would wait at the store all day for them to put .22s out and then buy all they could,, and then you would see these same guys at flea markets of gun shows charging 75 to 100 bucks for a brick,,

The last bunch of .22s I bought were federals, they shoot all over the place out of guns that shoot well and eat almost anything you feed them, except these federals. In the bolt they shoot a 3 to 4 inch group at 50 yards the little target rifle shoots black label into 1/2inch at 50, the lever well I would hate to depend on theses loads to hit the inside of the barn, and forget about it in the Remington 597. I contacted federal, sent in some rounds they asked forto test, and they told me ( from their cartridge/firearms expert) I needed to get go to a gun smith and,,,,
GET MY FIREING PINS REALINED ,,,,,WTF????
Anyway those are the last federals I will ever buy

Never been a fan of Federal .22s.
Years ago I bought a couple bricks on sale and they shot pretty accurately & reliably, until the gun stopped functioning. Turns out they were so heavily waxed that after about 50-75 rnds, you had too scrape the wax residue out of the action with a putty knife, then clean the piece. Almost looked like you had closed the action on a candle from a birthday cake. I think I got a guy who owed me big time to trade them for some decent stuff. He's probably still having trouble with 'em.
