A few weeks ago I joined this forum as I was looking to buy a tractor. I have a BX2660 which I love but need something larger, and will keep my BX.
I was asking advice about an L2501, or an L3901. I received very good information from this forum, good suggestions and good advice, and was pretty much committed to the 3901 when my wife said, I think you should get the L4701. Well I and everyone here agreed. (always good to please the wife).
Today I talked to my dealer and asked for a quote on the L4701 with a BH92, SSQC loader, Grapple, and Box Blade.
He gave me a good quote, but said “The MX4800 is only $800 more” and gives you a lot more Tractor with greater lift power on the loader ……
Someone mentioned the MX on my first post.
Does not take much to convince me! I am pretty much committed now on the MX4800 but since there is a lot of experience out there I thought I would ask opinions.
I am basically clearing and maintaining land, I have my 10 acres, plus some new land (20 acres) down on the Columbia which parts of need to be cleared. I am looking at clearing brush, removing stumps, swamping in a few trails. Dropping a few small trees. I still have the BX for mowing and small work, If I can’t fit the MX between trees I will simply cut them down (I have a lot of trees) So I am not worried about it being too big or not maneuverable enough.
Also, Is the “Draft Control Kit” a good option?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Since I have joined I have enjoyed the photos on this forum, so will include a few here of my BX and some of the work I am doing.
Thanks for the help,
Mike
